Bug-A-Salt Shred-Er Starter Kit

So it's obviously a fun toy to kill flies. I had the original little rifle, and that's exactly what that was. This is a HUGE upgrade. It's not a toy, and it's super powerful. It's not going to break a window or anything, but I would imagine it hurts if you suck at muzzle awareness. The original sometimes didn't kill the fly in one hit, but this one pins their carcass to a wall. One shot, one kill. I haven't tried to shoot anything bigger than a housefly yet, but I'd bet money it would easily take out a horse fly, or maybe even a wasp. I'm super impressed, it's SOO much fun, and totally worth the money. I really thought it was going to be a "buyer's remorse" situation, but, not only do I not regret it, but I get genuinely excited when I see a stupid, unsuspecting fly in my house. Also, they sell a laser sight that mounts to the barrel for $15. Buy it now, it's awesome!

Works great against any flying insect. It's a lot more powerful than the rifle type salt guns.It was very usuful when the house was invaded by spiders and other bugs. Bugs can live in peace outside the house, inside they will be targets for my salt gun - no mercy!

Had fun with it, works well.I read some of the other reviews talking about how the C02 leaks, I'm not having that issue, I put in the C02 cartleag and shot 20 rounds, put it up and the next day shot another 20 rounds with the same C02 tank

If you have big flys. Wasps. Etc. this thing is great. A little pricy. But I’m not mad I bought it

Some quality issues. The product arrived already broken before I could open the box. The plastic holding two screws in place snapped. The weird thing is that the box wasn’t damaged, so I’m not sure how it could have been broken from what seems likely to be relatively minimal movement during shipping.Also, the safety has a manufacturing defect that makes it so that it will not actuate properly.Worst part? The manufacturer doesn’t accept returns. Cool.

This is an updated review, but I have left my initial review at the bottom, after this one. Anyway, I'm just revising this to share what I have learned since I got this, that I did not realize when I initially ordered it. According to the information provided byBug-A-Salt, with the 5 canisters of CO2 that come with this gun, you should get about 240 shots out of them. And so, if we take 240 shots and divide that by 5, then we can say that one CO2 canister should give us roughly 48 shots or so. Ok, so that's great, right? Well, that depends I suppose. The instructions say NOT to leave a CO2 canister in the gun if it's not going to be used for a while. Then they go on to say NOT to leave a CO2 canister in the gun for more than 24 hours. And THEN, they say that when you go to remove a CO2 canister to slowly turn the piercing wing counter-clockwise to release any remaining CO2. So if you were wondering if you could take a CO2 canister out of the gun while it's not in use and then reuse it later? Well, that answers that doesn't it? So basically, if a big horsefly gets in one day, or one night you want to use this on a big roach that's gotten in, and that's all you'll wind up using it for that time? Then you'll have to use a whole CO2 canister for just a few shots...Something else worth mentioning, if you want to make sure your Bug-A-Salt Shred-er is going to last, is something else I learned from the instructions that I did not know when I got this gun. Under "Maintenance," they say to put 1 drop of silicone based oil on the tip of every CO2 cartridge. So if you are a newbie to something like this like I was, chances are that you don't have any silicone based oil on hand. And if you're getting ready to purchase this or have already purchased it, you might want to consider getting some.Anyway, with all of that being said, I still love the Bug-A-Salt Shred-er, as well as the company that makes it. And I realize that this problem of easily wasting CO2 canisters is not their fault, and is really more of a universal problem for anything that uses CO2 canisters.(Initial Review)I love this brand! There products are always of high quality and their advertising is always hilarious. This thing is a bit of a change for them though because it is pretty serious. I would recommend that only people who are capable of exercising self discipline should use this Bug-A-Salt gun. The instructions give a good idea of how powerful it is too. Because they say that if you shoot an ordinary fly with it from about 3 feet or less, then there won't be an intact, whole fly body to dispose of like with the other Bug-A-Salt guns, lol.Anyway, it's quite easy to tell that this Bug-A-Salt gun is built to last. Some of the parts are made of plastic but the parts that are the most important are made of metal. It's also really easy use it, as well as learning how to use it. So I'm glad that it has a safety switch. And one other thing. To anyone wondering if the laser sight that fits on all of the other Bug-A-Salt guns fits on this one? Yes, it is also compatible with this gun- The super duper mega awesome Bug-A-Salt Shred-Errrrrrrr!!

I have the bug a salt 3.0 and it has been amazing. I was able to kill a wasp that got inside my apartment with 2 shots. With the summer and all those wasps and carpenter bees I needed something that would give me more range and something that would actually kill them. I got this gun and it is just night and day between the two. I ve seen people complaining about CO2 leakage after a couple weeks or even days. You see, probably this review will get taken out, but atleast I tried. This is CO2 gun. With every gun like this at some point you need to replace the CO2 seal. The problem is that people leave it for more than 24 hours in it without Pellgun oil moisturizing the seals. Just put a small drop on a piece of ear swab and coat the seal around. Dont over do it. It needs to be just coated. Then take the co2 catridge and do the same. Just put some on the tip and then "WIPE IT OFF GENTLY" this will take the excess off to make sure it doesnt get into the gun. You dont want that with a salt gun cause it will wet the salt. Doing this just makes the tip of the CO2 tube slippery so the piercing needle slides and punctures properly. You should hear very little to "Nothing" scaping from the tube when you are screwing it in. This is because the seal should always catch and seal the co2 beforeeeee it gets punctured. Finally, well... the replacement seal for this gun is the same seal used in the Crosman Vigilante. You are welcome.Also, dont Leave it for more than 24 hours. I never leave mine more than a single day. Even if it has some in it. And when I am done, I lubricate the seal lightly with a cotton ear swab. It will restore the seal and the frost will be gone in a few hours.4 stars only cause it is a pain to open the grips to put the CO2 in. Thats all.

This revolver bug-a-salt has the range and energy to eliminate the pest from across the room while lightly salting your food. This is the only one worth purchasing. The bug-a-salt rifles are weak and essentially useless
