Q: How long is the battery life on a single charge?

For the 3 amphour battery, hours, maybe 12 (?) when running only on the "flashlight" setting but I haven't really timed it carefully. For the 360 degree floodlight, I'm sure it's much less. For a combination of using something to light the room and charge the phone on a night that the power's out, count on one evening. When the battery loses it's charge the light doesn't dim before going out, it goes out completely. So, it's a good idea to have an extra battery around. I have been able to charge a completely discharged smartphone 3 times on a charge but without using the light at all (carefully measured).

Q: what is the difference between the 806 and the 807? Any specs on lumans for each?

The specs provided by Spredvan from the Makita flyer are correct. However, look up DML807 on the Makita web site and you’ll see these specs: 360 degree = 710 lumens, 180 degree = 340 lumens, flashlight = 130 lumens. So Makita provides conflicting specs between their web site and flyer. I contacted Makita and on July 8, 2021 their product manager responded stating the web site specs are correct and the flyer is being updated. So if you believe that info the 807 provides higher lumens than the 806. But buy the 806 anyway and avoid the faulty button on the 807.

This makita light is sold as tool only. You will need to buy a makita 18v battery and a makita charger for it. Try searching for battery and charger combo to save some money. Or if you don’t own any cordless drills and want to buy this light purchase a makita 18v drill combo. It’s just cheaper than buying the this way,rather than by piece. The light though it’s sold alone though.
