A nice guide. Unique presentation and viewpoints.The writing style is easy to follow along with and the info provided is good. Not much to complain about except the fact that the author didn't really cover Windows systems at all. I can understand that though for the context of the book. Glad I got it, it helped give me some reassurance in my own ideas about sysadmin and devops work and opened my eyes to some new things that I should be paying attention to

This book gives a general overview of someone who works in DevOps in real life. Great book if you interested or just starting in DevOps.

Covers a ton of different topics. Nothing too in-depth but it helps you know what to focus on with your deeper learning. Sort of a career guide but with a lot of technical topics too. Worth it.

Mostly just wavetops and basics for you to go and research on your own. Doesn't provide anything beyond beginner basics that you could probably get from any of the 100s of blog posts on DevOps (which the author even admits).I don't like how he spends nearly 30 pages of the opening talking about what the book is, in which he claims his book is better than a majority of tutorials, blog posts, etc., that you find on the internet. But then, he proceeds to spend the whole book giving the exact same wave top information that you would find from your own research. It will give you a very simple outline at best, but don't expect to learn any hard skills from this.

Good book. It has helped me understand the stuff I'm learning in school better. I wish my college instructors could explain this stuff like this.

I am always on the lookout for new books on Devops. This one definitely stands out for me because in addition to just explaining stuff, it tries to teach you how to 'think' like an engineer. I buy books to find info I can't find in blogs and manuals, and this one defintiely hit that mark.
