The Open Source, Fully programmable, OBD-II Adapter for Particle

Well designed and very useful product. Was able to create a remote unlock/lock and vehicle start for my phone using my phone with this.Looking forward to more fun vehicle projects!

I got one of the first Carloop's when the creators posted their idea in the Particle community forum. As someone who loves to tinker with my car, AND love developing with the particle platform, it was a match made in heaven.If you are not familiar, Particle is the largest professional IoT developer platform out there (after edu platforms RasPi + Arduino). By pairing the carloop with a wifi or cellular particle board, you can access a RIDICULOUS amount of data coming off your car's OBD-II port.Obviously you can just buy a cheap chinese bluetooth OBD-II dongle, but then you can make any modifications to the code! If you are into building maker projects, or just want to hack on Particle and your car, this is perfect.

It sometimes seems like we need to select between a professional-looking limited functional component and a fully functional kit that looks like someone built in their garage; Carloop is the exception: it's both.Well made, professional grade and quality with all the necessary quality. Not to mention the developers are super accessible for questions and requests.We're using it with our custom-built OBD-II system in the lab and it works great.

Works great with Particle and the Nissan Leaf for communicating with the CAR CAN BUS.
