Perfect, except they keep raising the price
We had 6 nieces and nephews coming to visit and we wanted them to be able to assemble birdhouses and paint them so they could take them home and enjoy them. I looked at multiple birdhouses on Amazon and read so many reviews. I finally decided to purchase these and I am so happy that I did. The quality is exceptional and we had no problems with any missing parts. You don’t even have to use the leaf pattern, but instead you can assemble the birdhouse with this pattern on the inside. The kid’s parents decided to put the birdhouses together first, instead of letting the kids do it. We had a battery powered drill and all 6 of them were completely assembled in less than 30 minutes. I did not use the paints provided in this product. I instead ordered a box of high quality assorted outdoor acrylic paints on Amazon, which were also nontoxic and an assortment of paintbrushes of different sizes. I felt the outdoor paint would hold up outside much longer. I also did not want to add a sealant on the outside, because it could be harmful for the birds. It doesn’t have a dowel for a bird to perch on, but I learned that these dowels make it easier for animals, like squirrels, to get into the birdhouse. Someone had complained that the roof had some open places. If you put this together correctly, this is not true. The pieces of wood on the roof actually overlap over each other, but they do leave a small space between and underneath the piece of wood above it to allow airflow for the birds. The kids loved painting these and they did it in about an hour. I also ordered 2 others from a different brand for bigger birds for their mothers to paint and they thoroughly enjoyed painting them with the kids. I also purchased a package of small men’s white T-shirt’s for the kids to wear when they painted and this was great, because they then would not mess up their clothes. The paint really has no odor and this was a big plus. The paint washes off very easily initially, but if you wait, then it becomes more difficult. When I washed the white T-shirts the next day with some bleach, the paint came out of 4 of them. When the kids were finished painting them, we placed them outside to dry and the next morning they were. The kids had so much fun and the parents were so appreciative. The birdhouses turned out so cute. Now I have a whole set of outdoor acrylic paints left that I can use to paint some outside tables. I am so excited about this. These birdhouses are the best in my opinion. I just wish the seller would not keep going up on the price, since I have noticed they have risen the price of them twice recently. I think this just makes it more difficult for parents to purchase these for their kids, especially if they have to buy multiple ones like we did. It also provides the birds a home if the kids chose to hang them outside instead of displaying them. I highly recommend this birdhouse.

My son loved it!
My 6 year old is very into woodworking and loved this project. He was able to do it mostly independently and the outcome was beautiful.

I bought this twice because it was so good the first time
The kids loved painting and building the birdhouse. Sadly it didn't last two years even outside. But the kids enjoyed it so much that we got another one. No birds ever went in to make a home. Maybe this next time they will. We made the hole a little bit bigger because the birds around here are a bit bigger. Which may mean this house is too small. Oh well, like I mentioned, the kids really have had fun with this and they learned stuff about birds.

Great Project!
I purchased two to do with my kid… we are homeschoolers and they are learning about animal shelters so I thought it would be a cool project to do and check back on to see if birds are using them.We both enjoyed it but modified them a bit. We added zip ties to the top planks so we could hang them from our trees. And purchased hanging wire and additional paint from the dollar store —- because what they give you is definitely only half of what you need to paint one whole house.I can’t speak on the longevity of the product, but it is definitely great quality and I look forward to seeing it being used by birds (or not because they still looks cute just bring in the tree).

Looks Cute and Sturdier than Most of the Wood Crafts
This was a gift for my 7-year-old grandson who loves crafts and more recently became curious about the birds in his yard. It came out just like the picture and he's been moving it around his yard for several months. The other similar crafts were all labeled for indoor decorative use only -- not at all appropriate for his interests. While he's probably not going to have a bird move in, he enjoys setting it in a planter with bird seed in front of it in hopes of attracting a bird. It's withstood the weather so far. I like that it is assembled with screws, has a simple but colorful design to paint, and doesn't look like it'll fall apart anytime soon.

Fun afternoon project
I bought this as a project to do with my 3 year old Grandson as a gift for his mom. After reading reviews that complained about the screws not lining up with the holes I was expecting a bit of a hassle. I was pleasantly surprised when all the holes lined up perfectly.1) Before starting the project I would suggest sorting the pieces matching the two side pieces apart from the bottom which is only slightly different in size.2) Understand that all the pieces don't meet edge to edge but are inset a little.3) Start all the screws on one piece before tightening them so there is the ability to move it slightly if needed before you tighten them.4) The roof pieces are directional the one edge overhangs toward the front.Working with a 3 year old he was able to put the screws in the holes and start them with his fingers, but it was necessary understandably for me to screw them in.When it came to painting he decorated all the sides including his handprint on one, he took over an hour to complete his creation that looks somewhere between tie dye and camouflage, but something he kept whispering to me "That his mom was going to love, and keep forever!"I would highly recommend this as a fun project to do with a child when you have a couple of free hours, and create some lasting memories.
