This was open box, but in PERFECT condition!
My original set was missing the temperature knob, and Grohe doesn’t seem to sell JUST the knob (anymore). This was my only option!

Item defective. Missing assembly parts
I purchased the GROHE 24158000 Grohtherm Cube Dual Function 2-Handle Thermostatic Trim in Starlight Chrome. When installing, the plumber noticed that items were missing for the top valve. Now I have to contact Grohe directly to purchase the missing parts, as Amazon does not provide options to file a claim. These items are not worth purchasing via amazon.com.

My favorite of all the Grohe Face-Plate Valve Control Units
Once we got beyond the difficulty of installing the valve itself, the Grohe Rapido model, we found that the face-plates themselves, with simple and intuitive controls, are quite good, in comparison to our Delta and Moen bathrooms, although not quite as good as Moen. As to this plate, specifically, two things stood out right away. First, the ease of using the controls, owing to the square shape, even when hands are wet or, as in my case, often still a bit covered in argan oil, was quite impressive. Second, the plate itself is square, such that it covers the hole very easily and is very forgiving, as to any failure that may have occurred, in getting a perfectly round hole. I really love this one and, in the end, it is the one we chose to keep using in the more commonly used shower.Installation is easy, if you have the Rapido box prei-nstalled, and switching these out was easy for us. We tried three different models and each one worked beautifully, with an easy control lever for temperature and for turning on and off and also a wonderful lever for switching functions, on the two-shower-arm models. Overall, we really like these. Now to the downside....The Rapido box was very difficult to install. So, if you have a professional installer, a person you genuinely trust, I highly recommend this system. If you don't, I think you should look at the other great brands, Delta and Moen. The Rapido box is complex, often arrives with damage to a removable part that is actually meant to be thrown away and can be very difficult to level properly. Once it has been installed, however, Grohe has some of the nicest face-plates in the industry, not because of beauty, as I actually prefer a different style, but because of ease-of-use and ease of swapping them out.I wish you luck in finding a shower valve and plate combination that will work for you. This is a wonderful option but only if you have a professional installer that can handle the Rapido box. It was too difficult for us and, as much as I am enjoying these, I will be the first to say that it was the most difficult shower-install we have ever faced.

Modern & Quality
I'm building a house Internationally in Mexico from the USA. My contractor has informed me that I can only use Moen & Grohe plumbing fixtures due to the specific attachments. Grohe is considered the higher end brand in my part of Mexico so I thought that I would give them a try. I am so glad I did. This is a beachfront house with very humid conditions. My fixtures must work hard with the city water, well water & the environment. I am so happy that I went with Grohe for my house.1. Excellent workmanship. All the parts and pieces are made from the best materials. These fixtures are meant to last. German engineering. Think cars....Mercedes vs. Ford in terms of engineering. Grohe does independent "20 years daily simulation" testing on all its products with a special emphasis on hard waters.2. Designs are modern, sleek & simple. Grohe designs are intuitive and feel good to the touch and blend seamlessly with all design styles.3. Lifetime warranty. Grohe will replace or repair all defected products. Replacement parts remain available for a minimum of 10 years after a product is discontinued.Normally, I choose plumbing fixtures based solely on price & design. However, this house is more challenging and requires a different approach of choosing a fixture that will stand up to the elements and last. I am very happy with my decision to install Grohe.
