The new and improved StressGard II is uniquely designed by an orthodontist with a patented flexible groove, full occlusal contact, and natural arch bite tabs to help you deal with the daily stress and tension that may cause you to clench and grind. Dental experts estimate that close to 20% of the adult population suffers from the effect of grinding and clenching at any given time with an estimated 20-50% of the population suffering from Bruxing. The main reason people clench and grind their teeth is due to stress. Clenching and grinding not only causes excessive wear on teeth, but daily stress (long term and short term) can cause the facial muscles to overwork and become sore. This is common for adults starting in the college years (exams) and continuing through all ages. Who doesn’t have a stress filled life? Females tend to show the effects of clenching and grinding first by exhibiting sore facial and neck muscles. StressGard II Advantages: - New FULL Occlusal bite rim and Natural arch form bite tabs- Ready to use - No boiling or molding - Slim, sleek and comfortable design - Cost effective - One size fits all - trimmable to your size - Can be worn during the day or night

Works for me
I bought this to prevent myself from biting my tongue while I sleep and it's doing the job. Was easy to cut it down to fit my mouth comfortably. It wiggles about and falls out of place but I can't bite my tongue and it's impossible to swallow it so I'm happy with it.

Waste of money
For anyone who has worn a custom mouth guard this is a waste on money. As you can see from the pictures, there is nothing to keep this mouth guard in place while you sleep. It is a flat piece of silicone or whatever and you just place it on top of your teeth. Also, if you order direct from the company—they don’t list their phone number, email, or return process on their website. It took 3 weeks for my mouth guard to finally ship and there was no way for me to cancel before then. You pay for your order on the TotalGard website using PayPal. I had to look on PayPal and finally found a phone number for them, called, and they said they would issue a refund. What a hassle!I thought they were never going to ship the items I ordered, thus my reason for purchasing from Amazon. Downside with Amazon is that the item can’t be returned so you are just out the cost of the item.

Cheap mouthguard is almost what the dentist ordered.
My dentist made me a fancy, expensive mouthguard. My dog ate it. The dentist made me another one. My dog ate it.I switched to Splintek Sleep Right mouth guards. They work well. But the dog eats them. I get them on ebay for approximately $20 - $25 a pop and the dog may go through about a dozen a year. Understand, I put it in a case when I'm not using it - but if I waver from procedure, the dog will find it.I decided to try Stressgard II because, frankly, it's about half as cheap as the Splintek. I'm pleasantly surprised. For one thing, I'm able to face it down onto my bottom row of teeth. Is that any better? It's a novelty. It doesn't quite fit, and I can't find the instructions and I don't know what to trim to make it fit better. I'm scared i'll overcut which is silly because the dog is going to get it soon anyway.

Product is ok but I had negative consequences
I have bruxism and clench my teeth at night and when I am stressed during the day. This guard was a barrier between all my teeth as opposed to other ones that just cover the back molars. After using this for about a week, I realized that my bite was changing. After using the product, whenever I bit down my front teeth would not touch and sometimes the back teeth would painfully gnash against each other if I was chewing towards the front of my mouth. If I had to use the front half of my teeth, my back molars would chomp on top of each other leaving my front half of my teeth to not close properly. I have since stopped using the product and slowly waiting for my bite to go back as it was before using the product. I still have a hard time chewing but it is getting better. I have learned my lesson. I am now trying to catch myself in the act of clenching my teeth and stopping it. It seems to be working.Teeth clenching has decreased and my bite is improving.

Does the job
I had paid $400 at the Dentist for a mouth guard that lasted about 2 years and I was cleaning it with Efferdent. The Efferdent caused the guard to harden and become brittle over time. I took it to my Dentist and she said that I should only use water to clean the device and the she would replace it at a discounted rate of $300 and I said no thanks. She only told me at first how much it would cost and to keep it away from a dog ( they like to eat the guards). I then began to look for a less expensive replacement and I have with the StressGard II. It works for me at a fraction of the cost, it does not take on the shape of your teeth like the $400 guard does but it separates my teeth.

caused me more pain
at first it was great. waay cheaper than the usual hard kind the doctors give you. And more comfortable, but after just a few weeks it got softer. eventually I found my self chewing it in mysleep and waking up just gripping the living hell out of my back teeth. So I thought I'd just buy a few and change them out every month. But they like updated their shape and the last one I got only protected the back teeth and not the front. More uncomfortable and also causes you to clench more as your teeth need full contact or else your just grind more.

Stress Gard II works for me, and whatta price!
Assuming that the contents of the mouth guard have nothing injurious to the body, I highly compliment my experience with the mouth guard. My nighttime hygiene in fact doesn't feel complete without the insertion of the apparatus into my mouth! My dentist wanted me to get an expensive mouthpiece to protect my teeth against my nighttime teeth clenching and doing whatever it was that was resulting in teeth breaking. That was about four years or more. It seems to being doing the job. My teeth are holding up just fine, the apparatus doesn't interfere with sleep - job well done, I'd say!

JUNK JUNK JUNK
Are you kidding?! No wonder the picture is blurry. It's a floppy piece of rubber - and I won't use it. If you fall asleep with this in your mouth you could choke to death! I could only give it ONE STAR because they don't have ZERO available. I now have a plastic case for my money. It's amazing you post this as some remarkable patented blah blah that comes with Retainer Case and Instructions for Proper use??? That's a lie. The package says "for more information and instructions please visit us at [...]. It also says you "offer our customers a 30-day 100% money back guarantee." Yep - I want my money back.
