You physically switch places with the other person.

Is this suitable for a 5 yr old?

I think the rules are easy enough for a 5 yr old to comprehend. But players have to be standing up to play because it involves moving fast around the table. We noticed it was hard for our 7 yr old to keep up with our teens. But if all the players are around the same age, I think they'll be fine. Warning, it's a VERY loud game.

Why is one called exploding kittens and costs half as much as the one that just says Happy Salmon?

Exploding Kittens and Happy Salmon are two completely different games.
