Xbox 360 Controller Custom Mod Kit - BLUE - Thumbsticks, Dpad, RB LB, ABXY, Trim, Triggers, Guide, T8 Security Driver

I really enjoy playing the latest installment of the Mortal Kombat series, the 2011 incarnation that is for XBOX 360 and PS3. My copy is on the 360, and one of the worst things about the 360's controllers for fighting games is the D-Pad.These D-Pads have a lot of trouble being precise, and sometimes they are overly-sensitive to a certain direction. They aren't durable and they have issues making contact with the motherboard beneath them. While I like the 360 controller a lot, I can't stand the D-Pad, so I started buying custom parts in an attempt to create a 360 controller with a reliable D-Pad.I bought a silver shell that could accommodate a 360 controller's motherboard, and a neat, blue, rotating D-pad that I ordered. To complete the cool look, I ordered this set of blue replacements for the controller.The result was pretty cool looking. I tinkered with the new D-Pad and inserted a thin piece of custom-cut plastic to create a clean, consistent, and even layer between the D-Pad and the contacts on the motherboard. Now the D-Pad makes a nice clicking sound when engaged, and is equally sensitive in every direction. It is also cross-shaped, which abets the precision further.These blue replacement buttons, triggers, and trim look really cool with the silver body that I ordered. The triggers work fine (but the installation is a little tricky; it's easy to break the board if you don't know what you're doing), and the face buttons are really interesting with their different shades of blue. I really like the look and feel of the blue trim as well. The guide button looks nice as well.I have only two complaints about this set of blue replacement buttons.1)The shoulder buttons could not be installed. The standard-shaped 360 controller frame did not accept them. They wouldn't engage the internal mechanism and would not fit properly. I believe that the shoulder assembly was imperfectly cut from the mold, so it simply wouldn't work. This was frustrating and disappointing, and my controller has to be content with a set of standard black shoulder buttons.2)The blue sticks, while awesome in color, were not in mint condition when sent. There were little pockmarks and indentations on the rubber tops when I removed them from the packaging. They seemed roughly-handled, and that upset me a little bit.Other than these quibbles, I'm satisfied with the product. Still, if I order again from this company, I expect ALL of the components to be in mint condition AND in working order.

Works fantastically, everything fit the way it should the only complaint i have is the buttons (x.a.y.b) were all slightly different colored blue's but i the end when i put it ll together it looked great! on a side note i use thumb stick extenders ( have big hands lol) they snap on over your thumb sticks, mine stick but the blue one is slightly loose (not loose as in pops off easily, loose as in it can easily be twisted, it sticks very well i believe it twist's easily because the blue one's aren't as thick as the stock ones) i was slightly surprised the Xbox guide button didn't have a "X" on it but it didn't matter to me everything was very easy to install and goes very well with the stock black controller and a clear shell (i tried it on both) pretty fun to do, simple enough that with a little supervision a child can do this for him/her self, i will be happily buying again

No soldering required and everything comes in and out relatively easy if you look up what to do. Everything in my set fit perfectly (didnt have to sand any buttons down etc.) Now for ten dollars and a very minimal amount of work I have a controller that makes my friends like "Damn man that thing is lookin sexy!"I would like to point out that in order to change the dpad you will need a tiny phillips head screwdriver which is not included. Everyhing else you can get to easily with the t8 driver provided.I have fallen in love with controller customizing after the ease of this kit and have already ordered some other kits along with doing a bit of decal work on my own. All in all this is an awesome first customization kit or just a simple set to change up your look without a ton of work.

I had pretty high expectations for this kit and it lived up to them all. The color scheme is fantastic and it's all made perfectly. It's simple to put together and makes even an otherwise regular controller look cool. The torx screwdriver is perfect for the job and is durable for what it's needed for. The only thing you're not quite told is you need a very small Phillips head screw driver to change the d-pad on the controller. I have yet to change mine because I don't have a small enough screw driver but I will be changing that soon. I can't wait to combine this kit with my new controller shell to make it a very unique controller. I will definitely order from this company again if I need any more kits.

I ordered these to add customization for my controller to fit my personal style. I choose these for the reason they came with the tool, were the exact color I was looking for at a great price. The product came on time and no damage to the packaging. I installed them as soon as I got them and they all got perfect. (I painted the "x" on the blue dashboard button to give it the Xbox feel). Since installing it has remained my favorite controller and the buttons have held up to my gaming and even my frustration my controller takes. I highly recommend to anyone looking to add a little extra to their controllers and plan on ordering more from GeniusMods!!

Great product. Would have given 5 stars but had to shave down excess plastic edges off handle part piece with razor blade. No big deal though. All other parts fit perfect and function just fine. Hope u like pics. Screw driver was also nice to have and worked great.

this parts kit leaves out only one detail that you also need a micro philips head screwdriver for the d-pad but other than that it was a great buy i just with they would include the micro screwdriver because it is hard to find the one that wont strip those pesky little buggers

The product came very quickly and worked exactly as described. It added a bit of flare to my otherwise plain controller. The bumpers however didn't work quite as well as the stock ones that came on the controller, so I just left the old ones on. Other than that no complaints!
