brilliant
So good - such a crazy premise, but written so well that I'm completely engaged, even though I don't play any of the games the dungeon's based on. Balances the humour and horror of the situation so well. Read everything on kindle unlimited then went back to book 1 to buy them for the first of many future re-reads.

Brilliant, entertaining, full of heart and at times hilarious.
The whole series is hugely entertaining, packed full of original ideas, non stop action and at times heartfelt enough to bring a tear to my eye. I can't believe how each time it looked possible the plot might go off the boil or become repetitive, Matt Dinniman introduced a new idea or story arc. I can barely put these things down, I travel the dungeons in my dreams!

Yet another home run
He did it again, matt dinniman wrote another corker!I really enjoyed it, fun characters and great comedy writingLots of world building but not overkill. Less events out of the dungeon as previous books but this kept focus on the new dungeon level which was interestingThird act came and went in a heartbeat which I thought I'd be gutted about but matt dinniman keeps things incredibly active, interesting and impossible to stop reading until you hit the very last pageanother great edition to the DCC saga !!!

I'm Obsessed
These books just keep getting better.. This is by far my favourite. I loved it.I'm just obsessed with Donut! "This is ruining my fur. And it's hot. I don't like this Carl. Mongo is miserable."This book is wild!!!!! Soooo much happened where my jaw was on the floor. And there are so many twists and betrayals, I can't wait to start the next book!!If you haven't started this series yet you really need to. It's amazing.

Well paced! Loved this one!
This one felt more fast paced which was brilliant. Now, the bigger picture is coming to the front. Onto to next one.

Heating up, baby!
Once the ludicrously batshit nature of the premise is accepted and embedded, this series really takes off. There's some fantastic imagination and creativity at work here - especially in this novel and the previous entry.Dinninan has a truly impressive talent for mapping out and executing complicated scenarios, tactical maps, and convoluted dungeon setups. The bigger picture starting to emerge, the depths of inter-galactic political intrigue and various vying factions, both in-game and out, really works to elevate the series and add layers beyond the videogame styled fantasy of the dungeon.I feel like he's getting much better at managing the tone too - balancing the seriousness of the plight and the risks faced by the protagonists, with the corny humour, pop culture references, and utterly unhinged comments by the AI. Definitely glad I stuck with it and looking forward to what's next.

Carl and Donut are the best characters ever!
The books in the series keeps getting better . Matt is a genius and the way he has created the world around Carl and donut in so much detail is just pure magic . I have crossed this gate of Feral Gods and can wait for the next book in the series . Love love love .
