Q: Does this printer print many of its own parts like the original Reprap Prusa I3?

I've only had mine for a short time and I have zero experience with the original Prusa I3. My personal opinion of this printer is good. The parts I've printed were fairly impressive. I see no reason to not try printing parts for this printer. I downloaded and printed a semi circular blower attachment for the hotend, a filament guide, that slips onto the frame, adjacent to the display and I created a lever-like cap to put on the socket head screw that opens the extruder pinch wheel. I plan to add two MOSFET modules and created a mounting bracket to fit below the motherboard. My design was a bit overkill and took a long time to print, but it looks good and should work just fine. I like the printer and for the price, it's a great purchase.

Q: How comparable is this to the original prusa i3 mk2?

It is definitely a budget option. The Mk2's self calibrating function is very useful in getting consistent prints, but the Mk2 itself is quite a bit more than the Anet. That said, with the right calibration this does come quite close.
