Not for beginners... but these are a good set of decks! No boosters inside the box either
Not for beginners... but these are a good set of decks! No boosters inside the box either. But these cards are well balanced meaning each deck is balanced against the opposing deck. THe mechanics of the cards are quite complex and one needs to already have a certain level of skill to know how to use all the mechanics of each card. Only a few of these cards are actually beginner cards. The cards seems to have neem just thrown in together... but example, "destroy target planeswalker"... well, there are no planeswalkes in either deck! LOL! Some of the cards are quite useless. Also, the Arena redemption code will not work! It doesn't seem to work for anybody. And just take each copy of "evolving winds" out of each deck! Just replace it with a basic land! LOL! Don't need 8 of these. Both decks are bloated with rare and uncommon cards...so, for the money, its a good value.

Pretty Cool
The artwork is great and the cards are cool. I'm sure they'd be fun if I had friends to play them with

Great starter set at an amazing value.
These decks are great. Some fun color combos to play with and easy to understand. It comes with a glossary to help understand the MTG vocabulary (it can be very confusing at times). There was another starter set I got that didn’t come with the glossary.Great way to start learning. Both decks seem pretty well balanced. At that price of like $12. It’s probably the most affordable way to get into Magic. So, give it a shot!

Made Magic-Loving Hubby happy, great for Beginners
I have never played Magic. All Hubby wanted for his birthday was Magic cards to teach me with, as his other cards are all super complicated I guess. This set was perfect, as it has easy instructions to teach newbies but also had some interesting cards that he seemed to have fun with, despite it being meant for beginners. It wasn't hard to learn at all and I enjoy playing this card game with him. He was so happy when he opened it, he's been waiting a while for cards like this pack so we can play together. This is a great set for spending time with your kids, hubby, etc. if you aren't familiar with the game but they really want to play it with you. The only thing that bothers me is the price, I found it to be a little too expensive for the amount of cards. It is also annoying that the box is so big, adding to shipping cost, while there are only two decks inside and lots of hollow space. I thought that was a little cheatz-y because from the images, I thought there would be more cards included. A number count of cards didn't help me much because it is hard for a new customer to know how much space that many cards would take up. The box does look nice though, which is something I like to see in gifts, as it adds to the wow factor (: so this is a nice gift for a beginner player or if you want to give the gift of quality time spent playing the game with them as a new player yourself. The art on every single card is gorgeous, especially the Land cards. All in all, a great set that has brought us a lot of joy, and I am now thinking about buying him some more cards or some card sleeves for him for Christmas because it really is a fun game to play with him, and it makes me so happy to see his excitement over the game and spending time together.

Cheap cards with simple decks.
These are easy to teach the most basic concepts but I don't like how I can consistently beat one deck with the other.
