Prism EO Atom Box Kite

I'm with Army, I don't get the negative reviews. Took this out for it's first test flight today. Winds from 6-9 mph, gusty and inconsistent. I'm an inland pilot here in Charlotte, NC and have to fly at a park with lots of space but surrounded by trees and a large school, so the wind is usually choppy and inconsistent. I had this thing flying in seconds and kept it flying except for when the wind completely died, and even then it just gently landed. But as advertised, when the wind picked back up, a tug on the line launched the kite back into the air. Couldn't figure out how to get it to do tricks although the gusty choppy winds made it do some on its own including several stunt kite-like loops to my surprise. This kite is easy, easy, easy to fly. Can't wait to get it to the beach. Quality is good, set up is a breeze, cost is minimal. What's not to like. I own four Prism kites (Quantum, Jazz, and Micron), and each is a joy to fly.

This is a very nice little kite. Flew well at the beach all week. It is not very big, so it works better with light line. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is that when you unfold it (it ships and stores flat) there are two grommets that are supposed to stop when they reach two knots in the support line. On my kite the grommets were too big and kept popping over the knots, which caused the kite to roll and fly into the ground. Easy fix - I tied everything in place with a little fishing line and it flew great. Other than that it is a very interesting and well made kite.

I ordered this for my 4 year old grandson as a Valentine's Day present. We were headed to the beach that weekend and I knew I wanted him to have a fun kit. When it arrived I was a little skeptical by the looks of the package, but no worries. This kite is so simple and flies so well! Easy to store and the line and line holder fit into the simple little pouch that keeps the kite flat. He LOVED it!

great construction and concept, but this thing is a huge pain to fly. couldn't get it to fly at our home with considerable wind. finally took it to the beach and it took winds of 10mph+ to get it going. the worst part is that the design of the thing causes it to dart about wildly if not in steady winds. it seems as though if the wind is not strong enough or strait and steady it has a tendency to turn, causing it to bob and weave and wildy go out of control such as when first taking flight, I almost took it to the face a few times... the quality of construction is superb, as well as its ability to fold flat and it having the line holder is a major plus. it just isnt very fun nor easy to fly, and I certainly would not recommended for a casual user/child.

This was the perfect kite to purchase for our 10yr old son. Easy to assemble right out of the box, the atom kite literally "fans" open and is ready to fly. It caught the wind nicely along the beach and was able to stay airborne for hours once properly anchored. It is a medium size, and was the only one of its style on the beach this memorial day weekend. We were very happy with the value for the price, and I would recommend this for children or novice kite fliers as it almost flies itself. When you're done with the kite, you simply collapse it flat again for storage and coil up your kite string. We purchased the green version, and it looks just like the picture online.

This kite doesn't fly worth a . . . It's pretty, it folds into a neat package, it's easy to carry and it doesn't fly. I'm a moderately experienced kite flyer, single and dual line, but I cant get this thing to fly well, nor can anyone in our 50-member kite club. I'm surprised at Prism for selling this, as they have a reputation to uphold, but I've been told by more experienced flyers that many kites will not fly well, or at all, as they come out of the package.

Great way to burn some calories, just don't take it out unless the wind can blow your hat off. Not for those who get easily frustrated. It is a tiny kite with a novel but not very good design. It simply will not fly in light winds. I could see using this in a hurricane while the roof is blowing off your house ,you will have something to do.

Had a blast with this kite!!!!!! It popped right up in the sky and hopped around like ball. It felt like I was underwater with an air toy on a line up to the surface. I can pull and release over and over and it tumbles and soars. Lots fun and very active. Easy to tie down with very little pull too.
