I bought this to use with an led lamp. It does make the lamp slightly dimmer, but also emits a buzzing sound.

The Dimmer works exceptionally well … the only problem is you can’t use smart plugs with it you have to manually press the Dimmer each time to switch it on ….spoils my hands free experience…

Has to be reset every time you use it . Dims erratically and not to very dim. 90% of the adjustment range is fully on

Took me a second or two to realise the whole dial clicked on and off when you pressed it in, but works perfectly for me with no flicker or fluctuations in brightness

Arrived quickly,looks good quality for the money paid,But need too see how it goes for longevity ,Would recommend for price paid

Clever plugin dimmer, works well, with no buzzing or humming noise, or flickering (at least with the lamps I have tried), even at very low power output. It is a "trailing edge" device so will work with dimmable LED bulbs as well as old style filament lamps. Likely won't work well with an electric motor, such as a fan. The control knob "free-wheels" for adjusting the output up and down. Push the knob in to turn the power on or off (this can fool some one who doesn't know this). The previous output level is remembered the next time you turn it on. Need to make sure you have sufficient space above the power socket for the controls part. Some others will run up to 300 Watt, this is only 100 Watt but will dim down to very low levels; should be fine for most LED lighting situations.

I restored my mum's Christmas tree which had lights from the 1940's. I was worried how safe it would be but this dimmer switch meant I was able to control the brightness of the bulbs and made sure nothing overheated. Everything went well, the switch was sensitive but firm and easy to control making sure we were safe. The tree lights were on all Christmas and everyone who saw it loved the little tree but without this dimmer switch I would not have been confident plugging 1940's Christmas Tree Lights into 21st Century electric sockets so thank you for making this possible, my mum would have been 100 at Christmas and she always put the little Christmas Tree up on her Birthday just before Christmas, so thank you for making Christmas special and 2022 go so well.
