Update: Mom did it! The button location is towards the top, I didn’t realize my mother would grab the pole and tip the light until she could inch her hand up to the top to turn on. Why she didn’t turn it on before sitting, I’ll never know? It fell over on the rug, the front diffuser cover (glued in place) fell off. First she got a good “talking to” about the cost of things to make her life easier, not covered my insurance. Then I glued it back into place. The lamp eventually dimmed out and was unusable 3 months later. She now has a floor button lamp. But again, rather than using her foot, she’ll bend over in her chair and wrench her body to press it with her hand?!Orig: Perfect for my handicapped Mom who wants some extra bright light for reading or pill sorting.This lamp has a touch on and off with no buttons to push in or turn. There are three lamp settings. Cool, warm and high. There is a cover over the front of the bulb to diffuse the bulb so there are no harsh shadows. I love that!It throws enough light to see in a dark room but shouldn’t be the only lamp.I have seen that this lamp can be blinding to the person using it, oblivious to anyone coming in the room. Not sure if it’s because of the diffuser or the proximity or height. Adjust conditions if that occurs.My only suggestion is that they put the touch button a little lower. The way it is constructed and pre-strung, you cannot move where the button section is located. When MomIs having a bad day, lifting her arm up to her chest height can be challenging. It’s not a game changer, I recommend it completely!Hope this helps.

I LOVE this lamp! Bought it to replace a Pottery Barn lamp that died an ugly death. I was a little skeptical due to the price. WRONG! This lamp is easy to put together, plenty heavy AND has a tiny tough button to turn it on and to change the color. There are three and they are subtle and useful. I love this lamp so much I ordered another one for my studio the minute I turned this one on. Buy with confidence. Probably buying a third for guest room.UPDATE: I forgot to mention the fact that the cord connects through the pole and not through the base. Nice touch. Probably going to buy one for each bedroom.

We needed a light for a reading corner in our bedroom where there is no overhead light. This is a good lamp for the price. I don't really use the different light temperature settings much; we mainly stick with the warm light setting. The cool white light is harsh on the eyes imo but it is an option if we ever need something super bright. The lamp looks like the photos and was easy to assemble. It isn't the sturdiest pole, but it's what I expected for the price. The pole color is sort of dull but I don't really mind it. The color is almost antique brass.

I was looking for a reading lamp for my small home library and this one is perfect. We did take 2 sections out while assembling the stand to make the light shorter and its perfect and so cute. I love that you turn this on just by touching, there are 3 different hues, and it's dimmable. There's a diffuser plate on the adjustable head as well so there's no bulb in your eyes. Couldn't be happier with the lamp or the price. Definitely recommend and buying more for the guest room.

I read the reviews and thought this would be a good buy. I do cross stitch and lighting is very important. When the box arrived there was no packing or instructions. The lamp was filthy and it appears it was just thrown in the box. There was a large dent in the lamp. When I put it together it looked very cheap. I turned it on and there was very little light. There is no way I could read or cross stitch with this lamp.

It came very nicely packaged, assembled very quickly and very well made. Love the 3 different brightness and sometimes when having company stay will leave it on the lowest setting all night for them to be oriented should they get up. Color is very deep and rich and is built very well, very sturdy. Highly recommend.

This is an attractive lamp that fits well in the space I have beside my desk. It is not bright enough to work comfortably, even on the highest setting, without another light source in the room, especially at night. It is not bad, just not as bright as I would like.The on/off switch is a little sluggish. I don't know if that is the case with all of these lamps or just the one I received. I often have to push the switch a couple of times to turn the lamp on or to change between brightness levels.

This is a good looking and perfect reading or craft lamp. It is dimmable with 3 levels of light using a touch sensitive button on the post. The low is a soft yellow, with medium but readable and a bright white that would be good for craft handy work or reading if needed. For the price you won't find a better LED dimmable light. And it has a 2-year warranty with the manufacturer you can contact thru Amazon or email direct to manufacturer for parts or total replacement.
