Very easy to put together and my cat loves it

My kitty isn't a fan of sisal rope, which as cat people know, are what covers 90% of all scratching posts. He's just not quite strong enough to pull his little claws out, so he gives up. But scratching is wildly important for kitties! So, I've been on the hunt for a long time for a better match and figured carpet would be softer. Unfortunately, carpeted posts usually look gross and outdated.This one, however, is excellent! It's actually pretty modern looking and wow, does he love it. The second it was assembled, he was reaching up and going to town. He has used it every day since and it's already showing wear and tear (which I'm so happy to see because that means he likes it!).Three things to note:1) The post is not heavy, whereas my little guy is a chonk. So, it's not the most stable while he's scratching. I'm thinking of adding a little weight to the platform eventually, just so he doesn't have to practically sit on it to keep it still. That hasn't deterred him from using it, though, so I'm not super concerned.2) The post is a bit short. I was hesitant to buy it because I knew he couldn't fully stretch out, which he loves to do. But honestly, the fact that he has a scratcher that he likes so well fully makes up for that. No, he can't stretch out fully - but apparently, that doesn't matter a whole bunch to him.3) I've had this for 5 days and it's already very clearly used (it IS carpet). So yeah, I don't expect this to be a post that lasts for years. But that's not really the point. The point is that he likes the material, his behavioral need is met, and I have a product I know I can trust if I need to replace it!

This scratching post is fairly unobtrusive in the living room where I am trying to deter one of the cats from scratching the furniture. So far, so good. She likes the post, uses it daily, and there has been no more shredding of the furniture.

Scratching post needs to be have a heavier base- falls over easily when cat is using it.
