I love to listen to podcasts as I fall asleep, so I researched under-pillow speakers and this one seemed to have the design that took care of all my concerns. I was most worried about the battery overheating under the pillow. Since it's so long, the battery and controls stick out from under the pillow while I can still hear it if my head is in the middle of my pillow.You can control the volume, change the track, pause/play, and set/cancel a 2 or 4 hour timer so it saves battery after you fall asleep. The only weird thing is the timer doesn't completely turn off the Drowsie, it's still connected to my phone's Bluetooth in the morning. This has made it difficult to use with my sleep tracking app that gives me an alarm during a provided wakeup window. The alarm sounded through the Drowsie, which was not loud enough to wake me. Thankfully I set a backup alarm in the Samsung app, and that alarm sounded through the Drowsie and the phone. It's a mild inconvenience compared to all the benefits the Drowsie delivers, though.I used to fall asleep with a single earbud in, but my ear would often ache the next morning. Or I would find the earbud rolling around in the bed the next morning. Using an earbud meant I couldn't find my most comfortable sleeping position because I had to pick one side, or sleep on my back. Now it doesn't matter, I love this thing!Edit: The Drowsie now fully disconnects from my phone when I use the timer on the Drowsie, so I can use my sleep app or any alarm without issue. It happened after the most recent Android update, so it appears it wasn't an issue with the Drowsie itself.

It's 4 speakers the size of a poker chip encased in a thick felt-like material. All 4 seemed to work when new. After 6 months of daily use, 1-2 work regularly. Given this thing gets tossed about, slept on (sometimes not flat) I'm surprised its still working at all. Wires break- it's no fault of the product.Connects easily via Bluetooth. When turning on/off a pleasant yet LOUD female voice announces "POWER ON... CONNECTED". Mildly annoying when I forget to turn it on before my partner falls asleep. (Sorry honey!) Adrenaline producing when I fail to charge it and it yells at me that it's shutting down in the middle of the night.Overall, it works great. I've tried numerous pillow/small speakers so I can listen to meditations at night (can't do earbuds- the hurt on side sleep and fall out during the night)... This one has been my favorite so far. I'll definitely buy another from this vendor once I finally break all the wires and it gives up the ghost.

I got this because my audiologist suggested it for tinnitus, to play sounds that mask it and finally be able to sleep.Well, it’s a great idea, but it does NOT work through my memory foam pillow (which I’m not willing to switch because it’s perfection). I even tried the volume “hack” they give you in the directions but it’s still not loud enough, plus the quality is not necessarily the best (this I’m ok with, it’s good enough for my purposes).Also, the fact that you can’t remove the speakers to wash the fabric is almost unacceptable to me. If I’m going to have something so close to my face while I sleep, I need it to be clean, that’s why I started using a little fabric cover, but I can already see how it’s getting dirty after a month or so.I usually put it next to my head, on my pillow, when the tinnitus gets really loud at night, otherwise I just use my phone and put it on the nightstand.I’m keeping it because it serves a purpose but I wouldn’t recommend it for everyone. If they fixed those flaws I’d buy it again.

I've had two of these so far. I use it nightly to listen to audio books as I go to sleep. The first one lasted two years and even worked through getting fairly wet, but I think I finally wore it out. I ordered a second one and it is fantastic too. It has a good sound quality that I can hear through most pillows (except for very dense memory foam). It also has a fairly good battery life as well, but i do charge every morning. I highly recommend this speaker!

Company provided refund (or option of replacement) due to my complaint on not holding a charge, thank you!Updated status: Changed to 1 Star - Holds no charge, no longer works after 2.5 months (bought May 24) Have tried charging three days in a row, all with different chargers to confirm wasn’t a cable issue. Can turn on unit, but within minutes starts repeating “Low Battery”, after 3 or 4 repetitions shuts off. So disappointed.Original status: 4 Stars - Love. Can hear audiobooks perfectly without needing to turn the volume all the way up. My partner doesn’t not hear anything at all. I use the automatic timer to shut off after an hour. I use it every night and charge it once a week. I’m sure I could go longer between charges, but annoyingly (and my only complaint) is that when it has a low battery, it voices “Low Battery” every few minutes over what I’m listening to. It is jarring when you’re about to fall asleep and hear the computerized voice.

So I will preface this review by saying that I’ve only had the device for a couple days so I cannot yet speak to its longevity or battery life. However, this is one of my favorite purchases of 2023. It does exactly what you expect. You put it under you pillow and it turns your pillow into a speaker that only you can hear. I had the volume on full and my husband did not hear it at all. It works better if you are laying on your side but even on my back with my head turned slightly to one side the volume was excellent. I was a little nervous because I have a thick memory foam pillow but it worked great. 10/10 would recommend, I am buying a bunch to give everyone as Christmas’s gifts.
