Farberware Precise Slice Soft Grip Chef Knife Set, 3-Piece, Multicolored

My Mom had Farberware in her kitchen for years ! It's priced right, it's durable and their cookware, knives and kitchen accessories are very well made and for a reasonable price. I am very happy that are making a Chef style Serrated knife since these are hard to find at a good price. This knife is sharp, easy to clean and very durable. It also fits nicely in my large hands. I consider a #3 cleaver to be the most useful tool in the kitchen or for chopping down trees for firewood. But sometimes a smaller cleaver for fine work or chopping down smaller trees is needed. This mini cleaver is great because though the blade is scaled down, the handle is made for full sized cooks.It's well balanced and does the job with ease. It has a single bevel edge that favors the right handed.It's pretty sharp and useable out of the box but for lazy people like like me who like the weight of the blade to do the work, a couple minutes on a 2000 stone will get you there. So far it seems to hold the edge well.It's not as elegant or refined as high end knives but it's a lot more knife than you might expect for the really low price.

This was a replacement for a cheap chop and serve knife and it works great. It hold its edge and easy clean up.

This is great for cutting vegetables and fruit without a heavy weight,blade is sharp, decent balance,easy to grip,nice length on blade.

The serrations are very course making a fine and even cut impossible. This knife would work very well when sawing wood however. It would cut through a 2-inch tree branch in seconds.This knife must have been made in China. It came in a cardboard backed, shrink-wrapped package, which was extremally difficult to separate from the knife itself without damaging the knife's handle.Removing the knife from its package was a very irritating challenge.Leave it to the damn Chinese to package a knife this way with little or no consumer consideration.
