GREAT FOR BIG AXE THROWING!!!!
I am a competition axe thrower. I bought this axe as it was recommended by another thrower and I simply LOVE it.In IATF competition using hatchets, tie breakers are decided by throwing a BIG AXE. That's what I bought it for.Keep in mind it is a felling axe by design. I ground the bevel down to make the axe sharper so it would stick better / easier but that may not be entirely necessary if you're a hard thrower, which I am not.I'm about 5-8 so the 26" handle is perfect for me and my 2 handed throw. The head weight is just right and easy to throw. I've already won 2 tie breakers with this axe and regularly hit bull's eyes.The Swedish steel is EXTREMELY hard. Reducing the bevel with a bench grinder was no small task, but that's good thing. The steel is bomb proof.I'm very happy with the axe, and I'm sure it's just as good for chopping wood as it is for competition throwing!
