Genius! It actually worked.
This book was my last hope. My toddler was 3 years and 4 months old the day we had her ‘mama milk goes away day party’, and to my surprise it went off without a hitch and worked.Prior to this I had tried two other times to wean and it always went horribly. Lots of crying, no sleep, frustration and giving up.As other reviewers mentioned, I used white out and changed the wording to fit our needs so that whomever read the book would read it the same. We had been to a few friend’s birthdays so she was very excited about getting cake and a couple gifts. We got a few balloons, one of them being a big star that was set in a special place and framed the magical mama milk balloon.Aside from a couple questions about why the moon needed milk when it doesn’t have a mouth, she got the gist of what was going to happen. :)Later that night after bath I told my daughter we could have one more mama milk time then we would let the balloon go and it would be gone. We settled in for what I imagined would be an emotional last session, only for her to immediately stand up and say, “let’s go let the balloon go!”. I asked, “are you sure?! Once it’s gone there will be no more mama milk.” She replied, “ yeah, I’m good. Let’s go!”we drove out to a clearing, I explained again, “Okay, once the magic goes away to the moon mama milk is gone. Are you ready?” My toddler swiftly grabbed the balloon and yelled, “let’s do this!” Lol she was much stronger than I in that moment. She let it go and watched in wonderment while I wiped away a few tears. We got back in the car and got settled in at home. I laid down with her thinking it was going to be a rough go getting her to sleep but she settled in and fell asleep in about 7 min. No crying, no protesting… just went to sleep.I was in shock, and still am when I think about it. We did stop her naps when we took this on which helped her be tired and ready for bed.She would talk about the day and ask about mama milk occasionally for about three weeks. She only ever cried the second night in the middle of the night when she had a wake up but it wasn’t for long.It has been about four months though now it feels like a lifetime ago.I am so grateful for this book. Sending so many blessings to the life saving author!

Best weaning book
Absolutely loved this book when weaning my son. He still says that my milk went to the moon for another baby.

Best weaning book!!!!!
Get this book!!! I had a boob obsessed toddler. After over two years I was ready to be done. I thought he was not so we took a very slow and gentle approach and with this book was the best thing we could have gotten. We just weaned completely and I was shocked how well everything went! We let him pick a cake and a toy and he was actually excited for bye bye booby moon day. We had glow sticks and glow balloons and what really helped is we took a video of us saying goodbye and letting the balloons go for him to watch incase he gets sad which has hardly happened. Get. This. Book.

This works, and it’s something to cherish
This has been an incredible resource for my toddler and I. Weaning has been such a daunting task, but my daughter loves the moon so when I found this it was perfect! I find her reading (looking at the pictures) it throughout the day on her own and she asks me to read it every night it’s apart of our night time routine. I am so thankful to this author for making weaning a beautiful celebration of a wonderful journey of nursing. I think it prepares toddlers for change and encourages empathy which is so genius. I can’t recommend this enough.

Absolute MUST for weaning quickly
I had an unexpected surgery and had to wean my 17 month from 3-5 feeds a day to 0 in about a week. This book was an absolute godsend! Within a day she was asking for water overnight and has been accepting the fact that milk is all done. Instead of asking for milk at night she’s been asking for “milka booka” and we read the book instead. Cannot recommend this book enough!!!!

Cute book
I cried the first time I read this book, more emotional for the breast feeding mom's. Changed up the words a bit when I read it to my toddler so she can better understand and to keep her attention.

Must buy
I will start by saying I read reviews on everything however I never write them. My almost 2 year old was boobie obsessed. Would ask for it every 2 hours just because she wanted my attention and I knew it was just time to stop. However, I could not put up with the crying and temper tantrums I knew that it was going to cause. Sooo, I did some research and came across this book. I bought it 2 months before her birthday and read it almost everyday. As we would read, some days she was accepting and said “bye bye” and some days she would say “NO! My boobie” but I would just read it and mostly talk about it. Her birthday came and we talked about it all day. Then we released the balloon. She was more sad that the balloon was gone. Since it was her birthday, I let her have one last feed. I am currently writing this after 24hrs of no boobie. She asked for it 3-4 times, cried a little (no uncontrollable temper tantrums) AND even went to bed WITHOUT! I am so amazed and I cannot recommend this book anymore. If this book can work on my boobie obsessed child then it can work for all! If you are lost! Try it!! It’s only $13 if it doesn’t work 😊 totally worth a shot

Great for breastfed toddlers
Works amazing! My daughter was nursing for nap time and bed time but also wanting to nurse all night. She initially hated this book but then started asking for it as we got closer to her 2nd birthday. We had one last feed to sleep on her birthday and she has done great with it. Cannot recommend this book enough. I think it really helps them mentally prepare.
