Great value for a feature-packed knife
This knife represents an outstanding value for the features provided. Speedsafe opening, S30v blade material, serrated and Tungsten DLC coating, and lifetime warranty all for $140 - wow! Extremely sharp out of the box.PROS:- S30v steel used for the blade is widely regarded as the best in the business- Speedsafe can be activated via thumb stud on blade or a protrusion milled into the back of the blade that sticks out from the back of the handle when closed. This allows the blade to be opened one-handed with either the user's thumb or index finger- Nice tight belt clip. I wear my pocketknives on the inside of my front pocket. Other knives I've tried tend to fall into my pocket due to the clip being too loose. Haven't had that problem with this knife at all.- Size is perfect for me. Large enough for a positive grip, but small enough to not feel bulky in my pocket. Blade length large enough to be useful without exceeding maximum length laws in most jurisdictions.CONS:- Knife was pretty tight when I got it. While this gives an overall impression of quality, in practice I had a hard time fully extending the blade using the thumb stud at first. You may want to apply some lube or just continually deploy it for awhile until it begins to loosen up a bit. The locking mechanism in the handle was similarly stiff, making the act of closing the blade a precarious endeavor the first few times I did it.All in all, this is my favorite knife (previously owned a couple Benchmades and a Kershaw). It exudes very high quality and is a tremendous value for the money. I expect it will last right around forever. I would highly recommend this knife to anyone.

A tank of a Folder!
Bought this knife for EDC and for hiking, camping, etc. I've had it for a couple months now and I can't say enough good things about it. For just over $100, you will be hard pressed to find a better quality knife. Heck, double the price and the same holds true. The build qaulity is outstanding and I can see it lasting for decades. The blade is sharp right out of the box and seems to hold an edge very well. Since purchase, I sharpened it with my Spyderco Sharpmaker and it's razor sharp. The finish on the balde is showing a little wear but that just gives it character. The assisted opening works great. I've always used the blade posts on other knives to open the blade but now really like the assisted open on this knife. I will say the blade posts are pretty much useless on this knife. I have a lot of different knives like Boker, Benchmade, Spyderco, Gerber and I can say this is the best folder I have now. I think I might buy the same knife with the standard blade as well.Cons:* Heavy - But, this thing is built to take some abuse. I'm a pretty big guy and the weight is fine with me for an EDC.* Thumb posts are useless - But, the assisted open system is outstanding* The clip is really tight - almost to tightPros:* Made in the USA* Sharp out of the box* Build Quality - built like a tank to take abuse. Just outstanding.* Easy to open and close* Good locking system* Price - Probably won't find a more durable better knife at this price point or even double the price point

Kershaw Fan
Firstly I am a Kershaw fan. I have owned and carried a Kershaw Blackout speed safe with serrated blade for many years now. The Blackout is an excellent knife for everyday carry. It's price, quality, function, reliability, all top value. I even bought a spare in case I lose my original. That one is still pristine. But, the Blackout is a bit light and flexy so I am always looking for something better. So, with that in mind, I purchased the Kershaw Ken Onion Tactical Blur Folding Knife with Speed Safe. Another great knife, great action but a bit "edgy". The Tactical Blur is a very fine knife, so much so I almost hate to use it as I don't want to damage it. Plus the handle is a bit rough in my pocket and the thumb studs have very sharp edges, had to file em smooth so they did not catch in my pocket, so I still carry my Blackout everyday.I became enamored of the ZT G10 so I bought that one too. A bit pricey but once again an amazing knife. Much stiffer than the Blackout but a bit bulky. Opening with the thumb stud is a bit stiff as it too close behind the speed safe "cam", but the knife opens with zero effort with the "flipper". Either way you can easy master the action. I have large hands but still find that the G10 scales, while grippy, are a bit rough and bulky. I also might suggest Kershaw use larger diameter washers at the blade pivot to increase stiffness further without too much of a penalty in opening friction, and move the end of the center spacer closer to the pivot to take some more of the load off of the blade pivot to make it even easier to open. Overall I give the ZT G10 with speed safe and serrated blade an 8 out of 10. I would love to see Kershaw build a knife with the smoothness and ease of carry of the Blackout with the beef, stiffness, action, and features like the "flipper" and the re-positionable pocket clip of the Tactical Blur and the ZT G10. Yeah, talkin to you Ken Onion. Watcha got? While you are at it check out my new book. Yeah, I golf too.Playing the Wind
