Q: Why are there reviews for a player bag for only this CD player?

I do not understand the question but personally this is the best player I have for a long time and I search for along time

The player has a lithium battery and also has the ability for charging

Not sure,call the 800 no in the manual. Continuous play would drain the battery after a period, you could leave the charger plugged to keep it playing. Call the seller to clarify l have not tried to continuous play.

Q: can unit be connected via output to an external amp?

Don't know. I thought I was buying a tape played that I could listen to in my car. and could not hear any of the discs. And, no, I have perfect hearing. I'd really like to send this unit back.
