Good looking and functional at a budget price.
I purchased this phone to use as my second device. Honestly, for the money it has not disappointed me. When purchasing phones at this price point, there is always a little give and take when it comes to performance and features. However, I do think OnePlus has struck a nice balance with this model. When I unboxed it the first thing that struck me was the build quality. This absolutely maintains the form factor of their more expensive devices. My primary phone is a OnePlus 8T and this is definitely reminiscent of that.As far as the features and performance is concerned, everything works as it is supposed to. I am actually very impressed by the side mounted fingerprint sensor which doubles as the power button. It works quickly and efficiently and I really feel that even they're more expensive devices should have this feature. In addition, the screen resolution and viewing angles are very sharp and the phones battery power is amazing. I am also very impressed with the single firing speaker at the bottom of the device. A lot of companies tend to cheap out on their speakers when it comes to their more affordable devices. Fortunately, the sound is crisp and clear and definitely not tinny.Connectivity has definitely not been a problem since I purchased the phone. I am not only getting 4G LTE connections but, 5G is connecting exactly how it should. Although, when it comes to factory unlocked OnePlus devices 5G is only capable on the T-Mobile network and it's other carriers such as Metro by t-mobile, mint mobile and many others. Thus, don't expect to get 5G on networks like AT&t, Verizon and their subsidiaries because, it will not happen.Oneplus decided to equip this phone with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 5G processor which is rated at 2.0 GHz per second. They also equipped the phone with 4 GB of RAM. The best way to describe the processing performance is steady and reliable. It is not the fastest processor in the world but, it will get the job done. After all, this is a $240 phone and not one of their $1,000 models. Frankly, you cannot expect flagship performance like you would get with the Snapdragon 865 chipset or the Snapdragon 888. Again, it is not the fastest processor in the world but, it is not the slowest by far. You will have absolutely no problems performing day-to-day tasks, streaming movies and even gaming to a degree. Moreover, the 90 Hertz screen refresh rate definitely compensates for a lot of this.Understand, I am reading this device for what it is and not based on what it's not. If you are looking for a reliable good looking smartphone and you don't want to pay a lot of money then this is really the device you want. I have used it for about a month now and I am very happy with it. I would definitely not hesitate to recommend it.

The phone that does what no other can; just work!
My husband and I live in an area with little to no cell service and Verizon is the only provider able to deliver service but no smartphones before now have functioned correctly to deliver service. iPhone, Pixel, Samsung devices would work for a few minutes to a few hours, maybe a day or so before finding out the hard way that the calls/text/data were not coming through. Device configuration, countless hours with service provider support has been a total waste. This phone is a pleasant surprise which neither my husband and I are very often. We moved our sim cards over to this device and it simply works. No airplane moding the device to restore service. No system reboots. No network or other device changes. The phone receives all calls, texts, and even the data works -- we are astounded!A+++ ++ OnePlus for doing what no one else can.

A high quality product
Very good phone. It saved me in a pinch when my other phone suddenly died on me. IT feels easy to hold, the battery life is good, the colors on the screen are vibrant, and for the price, I really recommend it.

The best speaker sound, and better quality than most name brands..
This phone works better than Samsung, and most other competitors.. it's speed, storage capability, screen size, speed, and every other feature is amazing.. I bought my first one years ago on a whim at my phone company's store.. I wanted to have a back up in case my current phone broke.. and when I saw the Nord for sale...there was no question in what I would buy.. if you like to play music on your phone.. you'll be so happy with the loud, clear sound quality... as well as all the other features..it's amazing for the price..

Love and hate it! Major notificaion problem!
I've had it a little over a year now. I'm going to go into description of only the problems. For about the first 4 months, pocket mode was horrible until a update fixed it. That's the only update it's ever had. I was able to disable it until the update. I'm actually not sure if the feature still exists after checking that the update re-enabled it.Case selection is very few. The case I bought and screen protector is way too tight of a fit. about .020" if it had it centered properly but that's almost impossible to do. Fingerprint reader is hit or miss. Sometimes it won't read my thumb, few times it's opened for my thumb nail or other fingers. The camera is strange. You see it in the viewer and then you look at the picture you took and it's different colors and not grainy. USB C file transfer is horribly slow. Like dialup speeds. It's faster for my to transfer my files from my phone to my micro sd and then take the micro sd card out and plug that into my computer. The thing that is making me want to throw away this phone is the notifications. When I first go it, every single app was spamming the heck out of the phone and it took forever to disable them all as it had to be done as they popped up for some reason. Maybe that was how it worked at the time or I just didn't find the menu for it at the time.At some point early on I noticed that my notifications were delayed. Sometimes over a hour delayed. To this day my phone will start beeping off several times when it gets a influx of notifications. Anywhere from 5 minutes to a hour late.I've spent hours googling this problem only to see the same answers over and over and none of them fixed it. Same with Facebook Messenger which is very important to me. Literally 90% of the time it will not give me a notification. I have to constantly check it. Today I even noticed I didn't get a notification for a txt message which is very unusual. Sometimes all is good but very often this happens.A annoying thing is that there are Android apps and Nord Apps. I have no idea to this day which one I should use and why.Updating apps on Android is pretty bad. The app store is as bad as Apple's.Pros:Cheaplarge storagemicro sd slot for more storage3.5mm jackusb c fast chargebattery last 2 days of streaming youtube music videos 8hrs a day over bluetooth and then some.Cons:Notifications!!!File transfer over USB-C at dialup speeds!!!Finger readerCase selectionInconsistently slowCamera ViewerApp UpdatesApp store
