GeeekPi 1U Rack Mount for Raspberry Pi 4, 19" 1U Rackmount Supports 1-4 Units with 4pcs Fans, Aluminum Heatsinks, Micro HDMI Boards, TF Card to FPC Boards for Raspberry Pi 4B

I have been playing with my setup for a few weeks. I got this GeeekPi 1U Rack Kit for Raspberry Pi 4B specifically for building a cluster system of 4 Raspberry Pi 4B 8GB machines. Setup went smooth, easy to follow the design intent. Unfortunately, once the microSD cards went into the systems, everything went into stasis. I stated with the first one that was intended to become the primary node of the cluster, and the booting sequence always halted after a few "buffer I/O error" statements showed using Rasp OS Light. Tried the same units after removing the microSD card adapter and just plugging the microSD into the back of each Pi. Low and behold, no issues with "buffer I/O error".I thought maybe I had not settled the ribbon cables for the microSD adapters in correctly, so I removed and resettled on two units. Still, buffer I/O errors and halted boot to OS.So, I will be taking these SD adapters out of the mix and just use it without the microSD adapters. Should work far better than fighting the I/O error issues.One feature out of 5 that were important to me not functioning, I can live with, but I can't say I am happy with it.Especially since two of these ribbon cables showed multiple kinks upon receipt, but trying two with out the pinch points made no difference.

This is just shy of great. Easy to assemble. However, the SD port ribbon cable connection is completely janky. It worked sporadically until I finally gave up. I contacted for support and was told to make sure the cable is tight as my tip to get it to work. Finally I gave up. I just got an sd card slot on a ribbon cable and soldered it on. So close to great... Just not quite. Nice looking rack though and with my mods, I'm liking it for the money spent.

Cool form factor, nice that they include fans at the price point, but standard USB-C power will not power the board + fan, you need a separate power brick that can power all 4 devices.1 month update: 1 fan has failed, only running 2 of them, it started making a louder buzzing sound that was audible much louder than the rest of the rack

Two slots have the mounts for the boards improperly installed. This unit is unusable for two of the four slots. Quality control appears to be lacking on finished product. Should probably ask for an 8D and 5 Whys for why a customer received a product in such a condition.

Bad desgin, both sd card slot and hdmi adapter quit working after a few days, the fan make a lot noise even outside the room. Have returned.
