Q: Is there a way to remove the bronze top? I prefer to take the soap bottle out so I can see to fill it.

You have to take the top (pump) off to fill the dispenser bottle with liquid soap, so of course you can remove it. I don't quite understand the second part of your question.

Q: Will this rust in the shower?

I do not have the basket piece of the set. The items I have are not used in the shower - use bathroom countertop. Best guess, I would expect it to corrode sooner than otherwise. Stainless steel might be a be choice for a shower application.

Q: What are the dimensions of this basket?

I never ordered the basket alone. What I ordered is 9 inches wide by 2and1/2 feet tall. It has three compartments, one on top of the other. Tall enough to hold hairsprays and different products of that height. I hope this helps.
