I am very pleased with the purchase
I purchased the Smarssen Portable Bluetooth Heart Rate Monitor for the sole purpose of measuring Heart Rate Variability. None of the Garmin HR monitors that I own have Bluetooth capability. As such, I have never worn the Smarssen device during physical activities. That being said, the Smarssen HR Monitor pairs quickly with both of HRV phone apps that I use (i.e., ithlete and Elite HRV), and heart rate measurements are consistent with the ones determined using the Garmin HR chest monitor. I am very pleased with the purchase.

The Smarssen monitor was very easy to set up and use
I bought the Smarssen heart rate monitor to use with Zwift as a bluetoooth monitor is required and the monitor that I use with my Garmin bike computer is an ant+ device.The Smarssen monitor was very easy to set up and use. I took it out of the box, strapped it on, opened up the Zwift sensor pairing screen and waited about 10 seconds until the Smarssen monitor appeared in the window. I choose it started a Zwift session and my heart rate began to appear on the screen along with my other stats. I’ve only used it once but it worked flawlessly for the duration of my ride. I highly recommend the device to anyone with a similar need for a bluetooth heart monitor.

Bluetooth no go
No bluetooth connectivity. Only shows up in device list 10% of the time and won't pair even then. I confirmed the battery is good (3.2v) and my phone is able to discover and pair with other devices ok.

Disappointed
This monitor worked well and paired easily at first but after using it just 2 to 3 times a week for less than 3 months it is no longer reliable. It works for about 15-20 minutes each workout session before no longer transmitting a BLE signal. I realize that compared to top brands like Polar or Garmin that it is quite inexpensive, but honestly I expected more.

I guess you get what you pay for.
I have used this heart rate monitor 2 or 3 times so far with my Samsung 6s. It works great for the 1st 15 - 20 minutes. After that the signal keep dropping and it won't stay connected and the readings are not accurate. Should have spent the extra $10-$15 for the better brand.
