5.8GHz 32-Channel A/V Transmitter, 400mW (TX5804)

I haven't really taken it very far away yet to test the range but I was using the DJI Transmitter kit with the toadstool circular type of antennas and was getting video breakup on the Black Pearl monitor between 800-850'. So I "upgraded" to this transmitter with a helical directional antenna on the monitor's left side and the toadstool on the left side. There was no breakup of video at the same distance but I didn't go further because I would lose visual contact with my poor vision. I connected the circular toadstool antenna to the transmitter.A nice touch is that it comes with a bunch of connecting cables for just about every possible use including a solderless one for connecting to the DJI Phantom 2 Hub Kit just like the DJI transmitter.You do need SkySight's mount for this transmitter as it has protruding parts on the bottom, one about 1/8". The mount is expensive, ($16+) and the mounting hole for the antenna's connector is offset for some odd reason which means part of the transmitter hangs off the side. It should be included with the transmitter or a vented case should be made for it since it would be difficult to mount the transmitter on the underside of a Phantom 2 without it.Once I get a "spotter" to aid me in seeing the Phantom 2, I will test it's range and upgrade this review.See my review of the mount for this transmitter and the FlySight diversity monitor.

Hey Guys, this transmitter is the HEAT! It's easy to set up (disregarding the broken English translated instructions) and works great. I read numerous claims from different sellers about 5km range. Most users dispute that, but I can't wait to test it out. I'm currently using a Black Pearl Diversity 32 channel receiver/monitor with this transmitter. The BP has one stock antenna (junk, like all stock antennas) and one Alfa 10 dbi high gain panel antenna. I'm waiting for a tuned set of cloverleafs for the transmitter and other side of the BP to test the range. One other thing, the transmitter comes with adhesive Velcro to mount it to your aircraft. Be careful with mounting as the underside has exposed electronics and can't be mounted on an extended carbon fiber tray mount without using the Velcro or some type insulator. The thing I like best about this transmitter is where I purchased it. DronesMadeEasy.com sent me an e-mail asking if everything was satisfactory and if they could do anything to insure a positive customer experience. What??!!!??? I've never heard of a company doing that. To trump that, when I mentioned a problem being able to hear the onboard mic on this transmitter, I got a phone call wanting more info and offering to contact the sales rep and techs in China for a solution. One day later, I got another e-mail with the solution worked out. These guys go beyond excellent customer service. I highly recommend them for all your FPV needs.

I use this transmitter and can fly out past 2900 meters and have visibility on the Flysight black pearl monitor on my DJI Phantom 2.

Good range and easy to use. You will need to make or buy a custom mount for it.

Works great, wish they would have me needed one, in the first place!
