Great for screening 35mm slides
This is just what I needed - a small unit with a bright light to screen my 35 mm slides. Reasonably priced and worked easily and well.

very handy ,works well
no problems at all with this little handy device. My dad can use it easily, he likes it very much. It is bright enough to see the slides well, the little release lever is cool. The only drawback is you have to take the rejected ones out at least after no more than three are rejected, otherwise, the slides will not be able to fall out properly.

Slide viewer
Just what we needed to go through my fathers older slides. Nice and easy to use. Very portable.

Cousin gave us some old slides; we ordered this viewer on Sunday was delivered on Monday. We couldn't be happier with the product! It functions perfectly and the light is bright that one doesn't miss any detail in the 70-year-old slides we are viewing.

Quick way to see what's on the slide
The viewer did what it was supposed to do...view the slide. However, it is a little clumsy getting the slide out of the viewer. You push a button on the side to eject the slide, but if the slide got tilted, you have to jostle the device or push another slide to push it out. Some slides I have were just a wee bit too wide and I had to cut off a piece of the frame to get it into the viewer. On a bright note, once the slide is in the viewer, you can actually put you cell phone up to the viewer screen and take a photo (digitize) of the slide. The viewer is bright and gives you a good view of the slide.

What I wish I had known before buying
For negative viewing: The ad shows a negtive strip inserted, with color image projected on the screeen with 3x magnification. In fact, that's not what happens with negatives--it is just a simple backlight, no color reversal, no 3x display, and maybe 1.5x magnification. at best. You can do that with a flashlight.Maybe it works well for slides, but not's why I bought it.
