Centurylink C3000A Wireless DSL Modem Router (Renewed)

Great modem and router. Wifi is good, wired connection is excellent. Definitely would buy again.

Bought this to use with brightspeed service. It wouldn't connect. Called brightspeed but they were no help. Scheduled a repair and the repair person brought us a new modem. He said it would be faster and be more reliable, but it's not. Anyway I returned this one because the repair person couldn't get it to connect either.

I was happy with this modem but my internet provider insists that I use their device. So.......

This is my second centurylink product and I got it as an upgrade.The unit is good but instructions not the best. They refer to an 800 number for technical support.Background: i have had a centurylink modem for several years and wanted an upgrade. They suggest calling technical support for activation of the modem. it arrived and would not connect so I called support and talked it thru.It was stated it be activated several hours later. I shut everything down for the day and decided to start on the next day. On power up the modem would not connectso I has to go back to the old modem and went to centurylink website for more info.After a lot of reading I found what was called the troubleshooter what I think is a network anaylizer. I ran it to see what it would do with old modem and it was very complete and worked well.Now I did a hot start of the new modem (which means it was already powered up but I had to move the dsl line and the ethernet line from the old modem to the new one. Remember this while the computer was running an connected to the internet.I had the troubleshooter set to start.Once connected I ran the troubleshooter again and it found the new modem.I worked with it to get it properly setup for the internet.I want to point out already having a modem that worked seems to be a very good idea. This allowed the quick transition to the new modem. Without that modem I probably would have had many more problems. The new modem works just like the old one and web browser, e-mail client and a terminal program all worked well.I think that not having a fallback modem is going to be a serious problem to get up and running.

Plugged it in and had no problem setting it up. Works fast and no problems with interruptions of service. Best router ever! Thanks!

Maybe next time I'll listen to the reviews. Bought this router it worked all night and then the next day stopped working. CenturyLink tech came out and said it was the box so we kept messing with it and resetting it and then it started smoking and all the lights turned off. Dont buy refurbished spend the extra few bucks and get one that won't burn your house down!

Functional and easy to use. This is a simple old style router and still has some use. Price could have been better.
