Q: I plan to use this to carry groceries from my car to my home. Is it sturdy to carry 30 lbs. of groceries?

I use mine for storage, but I’m sure that you can carry your groceries in it.

Q: The description for the blue one says that it has two compartments but the picture shows that it has three. Which one is it?

It has 2 compartments, but you can use the insert to make it 3 compartments, Plus it has all these side pockets. I love mine. If you zoom in on the picture, you can see the insert.

Q: Is it water proof? I need to carry foods in them sometimes they get knocked off and spill the contents?

I'm not sure, I think so, but I always put a kitchen size plastic bag in the bottom before I put milk or something that could spill and just leave them in. I hope this helps, I really do love mine, and am going to order another one. they fold down to nothing and pop out with ease. They also hold a lot. JSD
