CanonPIXMA G620 Wireless MegaTank Photo All-in-One Printer [Print, Copy, Scan], Black,Works with Alexa

It was interesting at first when I could not find specific printing support for running this printer from a Mac. In the end it did not matter, can print directly from apps in my Mac so I simply started printing and I was and I am still quite impressed with the output. I use both genuine Canon paper (8.5x11, both Luster and Matte) and non-Canon paper (8.5x14 Luster and Matte) plus some generic Glossy I had lying around and the results with all these papers have been amazing. I am quite happy printing and selling these prints, the printing quality is very very good. Recommend this printer completely, I printed close to 160 of these prints and still had about a 1/4 or more ink across most of the ink reservoirs, black ink was the lowest. Refilled with genuine Canon ink, no need to mess with existing great printing quality.

This All-in-One printer/copier/scanner is simply amazing. I use this printer to print photos, at the highest quality possible, both in color and black and white. The quality is stunning--as good as my Pixma Pro 9000 mark II, which has an 8-color system as opposed the G620's 6-ink system (Yellow, Cyan, Magenta, Red, Black, and Grey). But don't let the fewer ink colors fool you; this printer does absolutely fantastic when printing photos. And it does so economically! The ink tanks are just huge and the ink is very affordable. I've printed well over 150 8-1/2 x 11" prints and barely begun to use the ink. There's no way I could have done that on a cartridge printer without a lot of cartridges and a lot of expense.Installing the ink is easy, since the bottles (and I'm still on my original set) are keyed to each specific tank. There's no way to put the wrong ink into the wrong tank by accident. Each tank refills in seconds. Set up was easy--basically rip the tape off, load ink, load software and do a calibration. The software was quickly downloaded from Canon. A quick test print determined that I had to adjust the default density of the prints, because it was too dense/dark. Moving it one setting lighter in the Canon software made it ideal, and that's using Canon approved paper with the Canon driver and Canon paper choice.I would highly recommend Canon's pro-luster paper with this printer, BTW. It's a great default paper.Experimenting with other papers, I found that Hahnemuele Glossy Photo Rag Baryta makes absolutely stunning images with very deep blacks and great color depth. The setting I would recommend is to 1) Set the printer options in your driver to semi-gloss,and use Hahnemuele's ICC profile for the Canon i6400 printer. In the Advanced printer settings, select Paper Abrasion Prevention. I use Qimage Pro for printing, as it makes it easy to use paper profiles.This All-in-One isn't perfect. It's fairly slow in printing, so don't expect instant print results. But the results are worth the wait. There's no automated paper feed for the copier or scanning features of this All-in-One. Sheets have to be laid down by hand over the glass for scanning or copying But these complaints are very minor IMHO, unless you're scanning a lot of documents. Print size is limited to 8-1/2" wide, so unfortunately, you can't print 13"x19" prints.The printer is very economical because the ink lasts a long time. In fact, the costs are competitive with color laser prints, but with much higher quality results. This printer is very highly recommended; you won't be disappointed with it. I've ordered the gear to set up my own paper profiles, because I really like how this all-in-one printer/scanner/copier prints color images.

My original review was harsh, and I have to change it. After 4 months my printer jammed and I couldn't get passed their AI virtual machine for customer support - due to 1 year warranty. After a lot of trials and tribulations I finally reached a human and rather than repair it they simply asked for proof of receipt and sent out a new one. There were a lot of issues with email and phone numbers, but we finally got it sorted out. At first I thought the printer failed by design -- but it didn't make sense because it was within warranty and that is a losing financial strategy for a company.Someone said to push a cardboard through and when I did I realized something was lodged in there, whatever was lodged got further lodged. Turns out, simply sliding a credit card the opposite direction dislodged whatever was lodged in the first place. Other instructions said to completely dissasemble the printer - but don't do this, that's not necessary and risky. Unfortunately I don't know why the printer is jamming now, maybe things need to be aligned.I usually hate warranty's because they are no good. But in this case Canon came through, and being on the very last day to get an extended warranty (you have 90 days from day of purchase). I ordered the 4 year warranty which covers accidents, wear and tear, and the like, on top of the 1 year warranty. The warranty will carry over onto the new product they are sending. They send a prepaid label and you send the old one back when the new one comes in. I will update this if any challenges.I wish that Canon had local repair shops, but am grateful their support has been kind to me for something that I think is common -- getting something lodged in the printer.
