This thing is junk!
Despite what riptrippers says thing is crap and does not work properly. After 30 minutes of fiddling with it was able to make it work. But not prolonged. Its also very dangerous as the flame burns for 3 or 4 seconds after releasing the button and the casing likes to fall apart as your tying to ignite it. Do not get this item!

Turns inexpensive disposable into wind-proof torch
This is what I use outdoors when I don't want to risk or scratch my nice torch lighter. It is not quite as powerful but I do not worry if it drops on a rock or in the ocean (it floats). Lets me light up in a breeze. In a noisy, bright setting, it can be hard to tell if lighter is lit or not - I just hold it close to the target and watch for smoke.

Worth the money
The safety catch is a real pain, but simple to remove using a Dremel tool. The piezoelectric ignitor can be frustrating at times. When it fails to ignite the butane, pulling the unit apart and putting it back together usually gets it to work again. If you insert the fuel cell backwards you will bend the metal part that pushes the valve open on the fuel cell and the adjustment of the bent metal piece is a trial and error matter. The flame adjustment on the fuel cell seems to need adjustment a couple of times as the fuel is consumed. The unit provides a precise, pinpoint sootless flame. For the price, the unit is a great buy. I would buy another if I misplaced this one.

Lighter Inoperable Out of the Box
Unboxed the lighter to use it on a paracord project and no flame. Pulled it apart and saw that there was no butane in the fuel cell, so then proceeded to fill the fuel cell with some butane that I had on hand. Close it back up, waited 15 minutes or so and went to use it and again no flame. Took the fuel cell back out and lo and behold, no butane. The fuel cell had a crack in it and bled out all of the new butane I added. Will have to go to the store and get myself another fuel cell. Not very convenient, I could have just bought this torch from the retail store to start with.

Cool concept
It's a cool idea but it only fits one specific type of lighter ( the clear cheaper ones that usually quit working while they still have fuel in them. not bic) and that lighter must be modified a bit, by pulling off the striker wheel. So it's not likely it will be able to be used as a lighter again after.

Very nifty little gadget
I do lots of quick electrical wiring repairs on a small level like car radios or motorcycle wiring stuff.. This little invention is very handy when I just have a quick job. I do not like the safety lock design of the trigger part.. It is very combersome or awkward to pull the trigger.. you end up in this sort of backward forward fingers motion to try and pull the trigger.. I used a shard box cutter and removed the plastic ledges on mine but it is highly recommended in all devices never to tamper with safety switches.. So beware..It works great and I will buy another one if this one breaks or wears out.. It is not made of high quality stuff but it is very usable and I think with care it should do fine.. I do not know how long one of the little butane refills are supposed to last.. In my opinion they do not last very long so get some spares...
