Q: Is this game suitable for a high functioning preteen with Autism?

Yes; you may have to modify the questions or reword them . I do that frequently with my clients regardless of age or functioning level so that the questions are relevant to them.

Q: could someone tell me if this game could used just for enlightenment. i have a bright 5 year old who just needs to learn empathy skill, ect. thanks

I was a teacher for 30 years and I did run a nursery school for 10 years. Empathy is a feeling that develops over time. A five-year-old may not necessarily need this. It could be overwhelming to them. However, if you play this game with your five-year-old, you may find out some things that you did not know about him/her. It gives the child a chance to express his or her feelings. Some of the game is just silly and fun. I definitely would not push the child to give a more complex or serious answers. Don't be in such a rush to advance your child's so-called skills. They really do learn on their own at their own pace. Any pressure even very slight pressure put on the child such as making him or her read or do things that they don't want to do could have a very negative result. Sure you could play this game with him or her and as long as you keep it fun it would be a good thing. Don't worry - your child, bright or normal intelligence, will learn very quickly from the environment, from you, from school, from friends - they are like absorbent sponges.

Unfortunately, this game is not currently published in Spanish.

Q: I happen to have the 1989 version of this game. Have questions been updated?

I don't have an older version. The cards in this game are related to topics my child is currently dealing with. They are good questions for answers with explanations n emotions. I know that just new card packs can be purchased.
