THORNTAIL Adaptive Light Mount is specifically designed to extend the weapon light several inches beyond the end of the forend or rail system allowing the shooter to place the support hand farther forward on the weapon, improving the shooter's control, speed and accuracy while increasing usable space for attaching IR devices, lasers, grips, etc. THORNTAIL attaches to any 1913 Picatinny rail, is fully ambidextrous, providing 8 different mounting solutions on a single rail system. THORNTAIL’s cantilevered mounting design places the bezel of the weapon light above the barrel and in front of the front sight base, eliminating shadows in critical low or no light shoot or no shoot situations. Ultra-lightweight THORNTAIL Adaptive Light Mounts are CNC machined from BILLET 6061-T6, Black Anodize TYPE III to MIL-A-8625F and 100 Percent Berry Amendment Compliant. Will not work with lights greater than .830 in diameter
Be warned the flashlight ring that comes with this particular Thorntail is only .830 and no where in the description does it tell youthis information. The description says it will come with EVERYTHING you need to mount your light . The description says its for E series but that is making the assumtion that everyone that is buying this product knows the E series flashlight Specifications it would be better if they told you that the flash light ring that comes with this will not work with flashlights with a 1" diameter . Obviously Amazon would have no problems with issuing a RMA but its ridiculous to return the entire Mount over a ring. So I called Impact Weapons directly and they are very aware that the description details does not tell you the size of the f lik ashlight ring and really didnt have much intreset in updating there description to include this info nor did Impact Weapons show any interest in sending me a 1" ring that is compatible with my Surefire G2X. As far as the Thorntail mount is concerned its awesome it puts your light in the perfect position it seems to be high quality and its very light weight. Now I gotta spend another 20 bucks and order a one inch ring becouse Impact Weapons didnt care eventho when I talked to them they were already very aware of this issue regarding no info provided about the diameter of the ring thats included in this package. More Money for Impact Weapons because 1" diameter flashlights are more commonly used on Rifles than .830 forcing customers to buy an additional ring

Change your description and I'll change my review
Classic case of I should have read the reviews. I'm leaving a one star because as many others have already stated, Impact Arms does not clearly state that this is a .830" ring EVEN AFTER being called and asked to update their description. I made the assumption this was a 1" ring given that its the most common ring used, and Amazon recommended / said "these items bought together" while showing a G2X surefire. With multiple people calling Impact Arms and asking them to update the description I'm starting to assume that they're doing it on purpose to make people go to their site and buy an extra 1" ring as one other reviewer said. Update your description to clearly state this is a .830" ring and I'll change my review.
