Moon Maui: Including Molokai & Lanai (Moon Handbooks) Paperback – March 4, 2014

I traveled to Maui about 2 months ago with my family, and spent a considerable amount of time reading through guide books as well as getting advice from friends about places that I had to go to, and things that I had to see. The Moon guide to Maui was by far the best source that I came across. It is written from the perspective of a Maui local, and an experienced world traveler. The author does an excellent job of recommending spots that are worthwhile for travelers to visit, as well as local hideouts that the typical tourist would not know about. Maui truly is a tropical paradise, and it was great to have the guidance from someone that has spent a lifetime traveling and exploring it. Thanks Kyle! My family had a wonderful trip and we are looking forward to coming back again and exploring more of the island.

As a native to Maui, born and raised, it is a relief to come across a guide book that is extremely informative to visitors yet respectful to locals. So many guide books disregard local culture and only appeal to the wallets of tourists. Kyle Ellison has bridged the gap between these two worlds that offers visitors true insight into Maui, it's culture, and it's people. This guide book is useful to locals and tourists, something very difficult to achieve.The information on Molokai'i and Lanai'i was fantastic!This book is meant to live in every car on Maui, gather sand between its pages, and become the go-to guide for locals and visitors alike.A total gold mine!

Just got back from my trip to Maui with this fantastic guidebook!! It's really tough to go wrong in a place as beautiful as Maui, but this this book helped us get off the beaten path and discover some of the true gems the island has to offer that otherwise would have gone unnoticed. From hikes to restaurants, this book did not lead us astray a single time. I just wish we had more time on the island to do more exploring! Can't wait to go back and see more of the island. It truly is one of the most beautiful places on earth, and this book helped us see the best it has to offer!!!

I'm sort of a collector of travel guidebooks. I've gone through many but when I come across one that really stands out from the crowd it goes on the top shelf. This Moon Maui guide is definitely Top Shelf! I've been traveling to Maui and even visited both Moloka'i and Lana'i over the years, and this is the guide I wished I had all these years.This travel handbook about Maui and beyond isn't just a "must read", it's a "must experience!".

We've always used "Maui Revealed" but wanted to try something different so purchased "Moon Maui". "Moon Maui" was difficult to navigate. The print was small and maps not easy to locate. We ended up buying the latest edition of "Maui Revealed" at Costco when we were in Maui.

Super helpful for our trip! I had researched a lot prior to leaving, but when in doubt I grabbed this book for extra tips on our journey. Didn't agree with everything and I had found a lot on my own that wasn't in the book, but still glad to have some extra names of places to go with directions.

This guidebook is a must have for tourists and locals alike! The book is not only well researched, it is well organized, extremely informative, and most of all incredibly interesting. Even though I lived on Maui for over 16 years, this book introduced me to many things (hikes, restaurants, etc) I have yet to discover. What sets this book apart from other Maui guidebooks is Kyle Ellison's real local knowledge of the island. I'm currently planning my next trip to Maui, and this book is proving to be an invaluable resource! I would recommend this book to anyone who is planning a trip to Maui AND to Maui residents who are looking to learn a little bit more about their beautiful island home!
