Are there places in your house or building where, for safety, you need a permanent nightlight? Are there locations where you would like to have a night light, but there aren't any sockets free? Although it looks like a double gang outlet cover, this direct-wire LimeLite nightlight will replace a single gang electrical Decora style outlet or switch plate cover, adding an electroluminescent nightlight off to the side. A LimeLite night light consumes only three one-hundreths of a watt, and is guaranteed to never burn out. The light lies flush against the wall, and will never get hot, making it ideal for homes with children. LimeLite night lights provide a soft, green glow at night - helping to make children feel safe, and providing sufficient light to guide someone through a hallway late at night. Available in white or ivory.

This product is very difficult to install. One must turn off the circuit and completely remove the outlet to access the terminal screws to connect the small wires. Getting the plate flush with the wall requires that one carefully slide the small wires into the electrical box so that they do not push the plate out. I am an experienced electrician and I can completely install three outlets in the time I spent getting this in.Then it did not work! All that movement dislodged one of the small wires from the terminal because such terminals are designed for much heavier wire and do not securely grip the small wires. Then I thought about the safety of this device. Those small wires appear to be 22 or 24 gauge. Electric outlets in the US are on 15, and sometimes 20 amp circuits and the National Electric Code requires 14 and 12 gauge wire, respectively, to handle the power safely. Because the light in this device uses only 0.05 amps, the small wires are adequate - unless there is a malfunction. I have replaced enough damaged outlets, caused by everything from moving furniture to a kid’s ball, to know it happens. If that occurs, the small wires in this device can get very hot or explode.I removed the device and put the old plate back.

flush to wall, easy to install. doggy safe!!!!
Yeay! A night light for the hallway the dog can't destroy! ! The outlet location happens to be where the dog likes to lie and wrestle with other dogs. 3 destroyed night lights and enter this one. It's flush with the wall!!!!! Works fine with gfi. Not too bright to be annoying at night but bright enough to get to where ya need to go at 2am.
