The best IT investment I've made!
This is the #1 device that every "IT Guy" needs in any branch office. I now have 7 of these bad boys in the field, and now 1 at home. They have saved me HUNDREDS of miles of driving! The concept is simple - You need to power cycle a server or other device... Log into the Web Power Switch, and power cycle the port. No more driving to an office just to pull a power code and plug it back in. It even has an auto-reboot function. If you have a flaky router that needs to be power cycled every so often, this is what you need. It will ping the device.. when it doesn't respond, it will power cycle it. You can even using the built in scripting language to power up devices in a sequence. I even have one that turns on a fan when the network rack gets too hot. I LOVE this thing!!

An astronomers best friend!
Wow. This thing is a dream come true! I have a remote astronomical observatory in the back yard. With this switch, I can turn everything on (telescope, dome, camera, focuser, USB hubs...) from inside the house. And best of all, shut it all down. Fantastic. Relatively easy to setup, and everything is controlled via a web browser. My imaging software, Maxim DL, also uses an ASCOM driver for the device, so I can conceivably do it all from there as well. For now, I prefer the IP configuration. This would be a must for anyone with similar remote needs.

Very powerful, lots of cool use cases
I set out to buy something that would simply turn off my cable modem, wifi router, LAN switch, and some devices, and then power them back on in a specific order with delays between each device to give them a chance to start up and connect. This device seemed like an overkill, but it was all I could find that had more than 2 outlets. After playing with the device for a couple hours, I'm finding lots of other uses for it. The interface isn't the most user friendly, but it is very powerful and flexible, and provides decent documentation.Through the scripting, I was able to configure it to power on my devices in the correct order with correct delays. I run this script at initial startup. It also runs at 4:30am each morning. It will also run if the auto-ping feature cannot reach the internet for a specific amount of time/pings. Finally, I can run this script manually. I was able to create desktop icons on all my computers that my family can use to 'reboot the internet'.Separate from all that, I was able to configure my 3D printer to power off after prints are done.

Great addition to home server setups
Much better than other IP power switches I've tried in the past. Even though it's a little pricey, it becomes cost effective when you factor in that it has 8 switchable outlets when compared to single outlet units.I like that you can configure the IP settings from the device itself, so can just set it up out of the box and deploy it and finish the port configs remotely. The web interface runs fine on Lynx, so you can control it from your router, if you have one that runs Linux and can run the Lynx browser. The one thing I wish it could do is allow for user configuration of port activation order after a power outage. Right now it only goes 1-8 in order. Not that big if a deal since it's connected to a UPS, but would be nice to be able to configure that. You can set the delay between outlets but not the order.

Perfect product for supporting remote installation.
These are awesome devices if you support a lot of remote installations as we do. As long as the internet is up and running we can restart our gear remotely to resolve a majority of the problems that crop up. There are 8 outlets that can be switched on or off remotely as well as having the device "cycle" the power on the outlet. This is a feature the Ubiquiti power controller doesn't have which can be invaluable if the what you need to turn off and back on is the device that is giving you the internet connection. In addition to the 8 switchable outlets there are two outlets that are always on. The product firmware also features an Auto Ping configuration that allows for a particular outlet to be cycled if a certain IP address fails to respond to a ping within the parameters you set in the Auto Ping settings. Great product and a great price. Our only downside comment is that we install these in our equipment cabinet and the power cord that comes with the unit has a unique type of connector and is quite long and bulky. In an ideal world it would be nice if there were an option for an angled plug and a shorter power cord but this world is not the ideal one.

Won't do a network without them.
Have somewhere in the hundreds of these out there. Setup autoping to check for locked up modems, and these things "take care of them selves".Locked up cable modems are the number one annoying thing you wish the system could mitigate. The web power switch has saved thousands of calls. No more telling customers to unplug the modem and wait. Hearing complaints how the cell phone doesn't work in the network room. Blah. Blah blah... these things work.

Ok...solid grade of C
I really want to like these but without an app that links to a cloud service or the ability to message to reset and get status via text, Facebook messenger, Skype, Hangouts... something. It's pretty limited in what you can do remotely without doing acrobatics to setup a DNS forwarding service and exposing your environment to the outside.

Great unit - worked as advertised
Easy to use, pretty much plug & play. Been very useful for remote control of H/W for a site that is *very* difficult to get to during the Winter months. Saves a lot of time and expense!
