Compare to other products available on the market, this is not the best one
Compare to other products available on the market, this is not the best one. Payments are only through paypal - great inconvenience. No automatic settings for top up. High cost mobile data. No Voice Mail. SMS come without caller ID. No direct dial option. Too many things not to like. You get what you pay for.10/04/17. Just learned the hard way: The SIM does not allow using apps like Whatsapp, Viber or any other apps that require SMS confirmation. This number does not allow you to receive SMS from banks, PayPal or any other institutions that require 2 step verification with SMS. When you receive an SMS from another mobile phone it comes with the bogus caller ID and you can't reply to this SMS. To send SMS you need to dial the mobile number every time or use the phone book, but you will not be able to reply and maintain the text conversation. The US number is not the actual SIM number, which is hidden and belongs to the Italian mobile carrier TIM. For many of us this will make the service unusable.

DOESN'T WORK IN JAPAN
Bought this for an upcoming trip to Japan. Not there yet and will edit this after I get there. Tried a call here in the US and it is kind of weird to dial the number then have your phone ring when the connection is made. But it did workUpdate 10/24/2016: Have been in Japan for 15 days and still do not have service. I am waiting for my sixth suggestion from the company. They are trying to get the SIM to work but so far no luck.

Beware, not a plug and play solution, Unusable or extremely flaky at best
A waste of time and money. Consider or use other / better options when traveling internationally or outside of the USA. It's not worth the headache or flaky performance. It works great when in the USA when piggy backing off USA carries, but in foreign countries, service and performance is very BAD and / or not usable.I have a dual SIM international mobile phone and probably more technical experience than most. Yes you have to set APN name and reconfigure your mobile device. That's not the issue. For the average mobile device user, this is not the best or ideal plug, play on the go solution. After numerous hours of frustrations and headaches just to send a text message or place a phone call, I ended up just purchasing a local SIM card, installed it and was connected voice / date in less than a minute. When returned from Europe, I tossed this card in the junk drawer of useless devices / purchases.

Order Sim4Globe, receive a Speeek branded SIM
I ordered the $14.99 version of Sim4Globe Prepaid International SIM Card and promptly received the $14.99 version of Speeek Prepaid International Travel SIM Card enclosed in Sim4Globe packaging. I did some checking and verified the SIM cards are the same. Apparently this service is marketed under two (possibly more) brand names. Before ordering the SIM I checked the rates for Europe and Australia - rates I can live with. After I installed the SIM in my spouse's phone, dialed my mobile number, I discovered the USA call charge is $0.32(!!!) per minute and my phone didn't even ring. I called my home number for another $0.32. That worked. There is no data availability in Italy for this card. Also, this is a 'call back' card, something I personally dislike. My spouse will be happy to use it for data only in Fiji and Australia. For me it's the OneSimCard Prepaid International 3-in-one SIM Card ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002ZJ5EDC ) for its versatility and much lower rates. For those visiting only one country, especially in Europe, I highly recommend obtaining a SIM card locally. They'll ask for your passport to complete the purchase. You'll save money and aggravation.

I purchased this in order to have a USA based ...
I purchased this in order to have a USA based telephone number also for banking purposes. Sim4globe gives only Michigan phone numbers. Cannot get a phone number that would be local for my family in California. I have a bank account at Bank of America BUT this bank has been unable to send text sms to my sim4globe phone number - verification process does not go through repeately over a period of 2 months. Bank of America does not have sim4globe on their list of telephone service providers. It is very frustrating because neither (Bank of America tech support nor Sim4globe tech support) have provided me with a specific contact person with a specific email adress/phone number whom the other side could contact - they use general email adresses and don't sign the email with a person's name.

Best 2G SIM card for occasional usage
This is the best SIM card I have found for keeping minutes without any monthly fee. The cost per call/text is a little more than other SIM cards so if you plan to use it frequently, you would probably want to go with a SIM card that has a monthly charge. At the time I'm writing this, it costs me $0.32/min to make a call, $0.15/min to receive a call, $0.26 to make a text, and free to receive text messages. Works great on my smart watch for phone calls and texting. My smart watch doesn't have APN internet settings so I can't test the data. I love that my minutes don't expire as long as I use it once per year. I'm going to buy another one to use for a phone for my child for rare/occasional use. I have a smart watch that only supports 2G network, and this is also one of the few SIM cards available that supports 2G network that I have found. Happy with my find.Update 6/11/2018: I bought a second SIM card and it is still working but the first SIM card I bought stopped working for no apparent reason. Customer support was able to transfer the funds to my newer SIM card without any difficulty. I took the newer SIM card to Canada and got poor coverage in remote areas compared to a SIM that supports 3G+ (there is likely better 3G/4G coverage than 2G coverage in remote areas) but was glad to see that I got very good signal in the city. I'm still keeping this review at 5 stars but am changing the title to reflect that it's limited to 2G network. Because most US providers have phased out 2G (or have given an estimated end date of 2G support), those of us in the US will probably need to find a good alternative SIM card and/or device in the next year or two.
