These plastic bags are made from a plastic other than the usual polyethylene and the film is thinner. My first impression was that the bags were flimsy, but have turned out to be at least if not more resistant to tearing and puncture than the standard poly baggies. While bigger than they need to be for some of the usual things we put in baggies, their larger size is welcome for bread, celery, lettuce, and other larger items for which standard baggies (which seem to have shrunk over the years) are not quite big enough. The plastic is, like polyethylene, a barrier to water vapor unlike the “green” compostable baggies that have appeared in recent years, so foods won’t dry out unexpectedly.

No odor and well made.

These are not extra thick or heavy duty, but they are thick enough and strong enough to say hold 4 lbs. of oranges or apples.One use for these is that we take them to the grocery store because the produce bags there are so value engineered that they often break open with even a few items. These do not.These bags also work reasonably well in the freezer for short stays and lot's of other miscellaneous uses.So in summary, for the price these are good to very good bags.PS - a few minutes cutting with a razor knife can convert the carboard container into a nice dispenser (see photo).
