Good product

As of May 2019, this seller gives you the new version, even though photo shows the old version. The new version will not fit any of the currently sold cases here on Amazon. I went directly to asp-usa.com to confirm this as well as by phone.The good news is that these new ones are more robust, bad news is that they are also a bit larger as a result. There has been no end to the confusion as the newer model restraints won't fit any of the existing cases being sold on Amazon. Adding to the confusion, the company kept the same model number (56201) for both the new and the old design of the double case and they scrapped the single molle keeper case altogether. Note that there is also a completely new case model available from ASP that includes a scarab cutter and integrated holder (Model 56226).Note: You can quickly tell the difference between old and new restraints by the addition of auxiliary compression button on the ratchet block (see photo).To conclude: If this is your first purchase, you will likely get the new ones as shown in my photo (mine came with black buttons, not yellow but otherwise the same), and for now must go to asp-usa.com or another retailer for a proper case. If your kit is setup for the older version restraints as shown in the seller photo, you will have to look elsewhere for more of the older ones. But note, one of the other improvements in the restraints was polymer formulation to reduce damage from extreme storage conditions and the need for hydration, so you may want to consider upgrading if a mechanical failure will ruin your day or make you dead.

These days with many departments and agencies experiencing budget cuts, items such as these become a luxury for boots on the ground and "standard issue" is always the least practical. I spent my own money on these. I was bummed out that ASP only provides 1 pull ring for a pack of 6. To contend with ASP's "nickel & dime" strategy, I scrounged around the garage for paracord which I used for makeshift pull rings. I'm even considering using bright orange paracord as a means to identify a particular person from the rest of a group. If you have more time than money or you simply don't want to spend anymore than you already have, it takes only several minutes to cut, fasten and melt the ends of the paracord. I kept my lengths under 3 inches and kept my knots on the outside of the apertures.UPDATE: I recently purchased my 2nd set of ASP (6 PK) Black Tri-Fold Restraints and was very pleased to find 6 pull rings along with the restraints. I thought maybe it was an oversight on the part of the person who filled my first order,but reading similar reviews on the same issue dispelled the notion that it was a mere oversight. Either way,I'm glad I didn't have a repeat.
