Nu-X XTC OD Pedal - Surpringly Good
Bought this at a great price. I like this pedal, it complements the Nu-X Plexi Crunch pedal. The Plexi cuts the bass for a Marshall tone. The XTC keeps the bass, but is also a bright pedal; I tend to keep the tone well below 12 o'clock, then ride the guitar tone. It can produce a clean boost, mild boost, through to heavy overdrive, and beyond to distortion. The Plexi excels on Brit Rock (think Free, Pistols, Bowie), the XTC is warmer/smoother and excels on Classic Rock (think Eagles, Cars, Undertones). Amazingly I can get a similar tone from the XTC as with my Fulltone OCD. Clearly the OCD is higher quality and will probably last longer, but the XTC will get you into that tonal range for a fraction of the price. It works very well into a clean amp channel (good sound at lower volume). Note that the Nu-X website refers to a current draw of 20mA (much less than the 300mA PSU mentioned by some sellers).Update: There is a very annoying loud pop when engaging the XTC pedal. Not everyone will experience this issue, it may be dependant on your set up (impedance of signal chain/guitar/pedals/amp). I have overcome this by placing my Boss TU-3 tuner at the end of the signal chain. I engage the tuner before the XTC. The TU-3 mutes the signal from the XTC when that is activated (and noise from other drive pedals). I now set the XTC for a clean boost, it is excellent and will probably make my Fulltone OCD redundant.

Probably very good for guitar
I bought this for my bass. I liked it and was in 2 minds whether to keep it or not. But decided not to keep it as for bass there just wasn’t enough bottom end for me - it lost too much for my liking in the bottom end. It’s probably very good for guitar.

V Good pedal
It’s high gain so I run it barley any gain and it’s great in my tonemaster deluxe. If you like high gain it has it in spades but I find it pushes the amp as a boost without much gain but there if you need it. It’s in use.
