Expensive but worth it
Bought this as I moved to a remote UK area with very poor mobile coverage and terrible broadband speeds. It arrived and initially I thought it was broken as I got the hardware error fault. Contacted Cleverkit who phoned me back within the hour (yes you read that right!) to explain that I needed to select an operator within the app first. This wasn’t documented but fixed the issue immediately. The aerial is now fixed to a 10ft pole on my roof with the secondary aerial sat in my attic. I’ve only managed to find a 3G signal on O2 but hoping to reconfigure to 4g on 3 soon.Current 3G speeds are double what BT can supply on broadband so very happy. I can also make mobile calls and receive texts in the house which is a godsend now that every website insists on second factor authentication. It’s expensive but as long as it keeps working it’s saved my remote business!

Nextivity Cel Fi Go x 3g/4g home signal booster
I share my experience of owning / using the Nextivity Cel-Fi Go X 3G/4G home mobile signal booster & I neither work for Nextivity USA or have any financial interest with any UK distributors. This information will be beneficial to anyone considering buying this product.********************************************************************************************************************N/B*** Some mobile handsets from Samsung (Galaxy S21 / S20 etc including some older Samsung models) & Apple iphones from 5C onwards (according to apple support website) include a built-in feature called "Wi-fi calling". If you suffer from poor mobile reception & you have any of the above mentioned compatible handsets then check your phone settings to enable Wi-fi calling on your Android / Apple handset respectively. An important consideration is that "Wi-fi calling" needs to be a service that is offered by your mobile network provider. You will then be able to use your mobile indoors (within range of your broadband router) to make calls, possibly including your garden, (depends on router wi-fi signal range ) via your broadband service provider. If you find the above applies to you then count yourselves lucky, save your cash for your next handset upgrade, as you will not need the Cel-Fi Go X 3g/4g signal booster.******************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************This mobile signal booster is Ofcom licenced exempt (legal for use in the UK). It is made by Nextivity (USA). I used 02, EE, Three & Vodafone sim's without any issues, as well as, (MVNO) mobile virtual network operators such as Sky / Tesco & Giff-Gaff. You can request the retailer (at point of sale) to set it to your mobile network of choice or you can do it yourself by downloading the Nextivity Wave app from the appropriate (Android / IOS) app store. If you switch at any future point to a new mobile network you simply tap the Cel-fi Wave app on your handset & select your new mobile network & your good to go.I typed into Google “Nextivity Cel-Fi Go X 3g/4g signal booster UK sellers” & (at time of writing) some e-tailers offered it on a 14 day trial & I was advised it can be returned provided it is in the same condition as received, less the original shipping cost of delivering it to you. If you live in a very poor signal area i.e less than 1 bar signal, my advice is to try it, it might still work but the literature in the box advised of a minimum 2 bar signal. In my area the mobile signal fluctuates between 1.5 to 2 bar signal & so I took a chance & it worked out. I also ordered free sims from the main 4 UK mobile networks to try with this signal booster. After setting up the signal booster, as per box leaflet, I noticed my signal went from 1.5 to a constant 4 bars signal in my home & garden. That was the first time that my mobile signal approached the 98% coverage figure which is shown on the UK mobile network websites. Prior to using the signal booster, making calls or receive calls or texts, I experienced loss of sound mid-call, dropped calls & at times not being able to make or receive calls or texts. Sometimes my handset would just show a "no network" message.I tested other handsets, to ensure my handset was not at fault, but the same issues happened on Apple, LG, Nokia, Samsung & Sony handsets. I also switched off my voicemail so people could contact me directly but that did not go to plan either. I thought it would be easier for people to reach me instead of having to wait for me to call them back when I had good reception. After switching off my voicemail, I got complaints from friends & family that they had left a voicemail message but I had not got back to them. When I checked my mobile I had no text or voicemail notifications so I contacted 02 customer support & they advised poor mobile reception can result in callers still being transferred to my voicemail which was disappointing, all this technology (3G,4G & now 5G) & you can not make a simple telephone call.Once I started using the Cel Fi Go X signal booster I could make & receive calls/texts, experienced no dropped calls & all calls made had clear sound quality & no loss of sound mid-call either. My biggest gripe with the so-called “solutions” offered by the mobile network providers is that their (booster devices) are only compatible on their network & if you switch to a new provider, the booster that you purchased from your old provider will not work on the new mobile network that you switched to. The mobile network providers are too busy making money to be concerned about co-operating to produce a signal booster device which any customer can buy & which will work across all networks. In my experience this is where I found the Cel-fi Go X 3G/4G signal booster gives you more flexibility (at a cost) as you can use it with most current 3g/4g handsets & if you switch mobile providers just tap the Wave app & change to your new network and it means you can get on with your life.It is a lot of money at the end of the day but anyone working from home or buying it for business use will not be disappointed as an investment & a legal solution. None of the UK mobile providers offers this device (at the time of writing) just in case anyone was wondering. It would be great if all UK mobile networks offered it to their customers but that would mean they would have to co-operate & they have, to date, shown no interest in doing that as they are still making money. I am all for companies making a profit but also want them to show some consideration for their customers.I did contact all 4 UK mobile networks (02, EE, Three & Vodafone) regards new mast installations as I did not want to buy this signal booster & then find 1 month later the road being dug-up to install a new mast at the top of my road. All the mobile networks provided the same reply i.e. "No plans at present or within the next 12-18months" was their collective response.I have 3 reservations shown below regards the Cel-Fi Go X 3G/4G signal booster.1.The first is the high price (depending on where you buy it) well over £875 (at the time of writing) plus shipping. In my opinion, if this cost, £499 including shipping then I think a lot more people would buy it. Judging from the unhappy customer reviews, on 02, EE, Three & Vodafone websites, respectively, of customers complaining of poor mobile reception only for their network provider to respond by saying there is nothing they can do but they do not have a problem increasing prices each year.2.The second point is due to UK Ofcom regulations which mandates that the Cel-Fi Go X 3G/4g is restricted to only work on one mobile network at one time to prevent network interference. To extract maximum benefit & value it would mean all your family changing to the same mobile network that the signal booster would be set to.3. My final point is due to the Huawei situation as the UK Government in May 2020 have instructed the 4 UK mobile operators (02, EE, Three & Vodafone) to remove Huawei equipment from the core of the UK mobile network. If the Cel-Fi Go X is unaffected by the Huawei situation (I will update my review). Other than these issues this is a practical solution (even when you factor in the points 2 & 3) albeit an expensive one, but what you can not ignore is the fact it does what it claims on the box. I made numerous telephone / email enquiries regards the Huawei situation, both to the manufacturer & UK distributors but the response I received, did not give me confidence.
