Q: How do i take it off? portions obviously got too much and my paper really stuck! don't want to lose my brother's mat

Try Awesome that is in the spray bottle from Dollar Tree and use your scraper to get it off. This is some strong stuff. I learnd to dab a little and rub my finger to areas that require it. Do not rub this stuff over your wold mat. I use 3 dabs for the lenght of the paper on my cricut/cutting mats. For instance 8 x 11 sheet paper I use 3 dabs Long and 3 dabs wide and use my finger to spread it towards the middle of the mat. I hope this helps.

So many variables in your question. Fabric type? Laundry instructions? Dry clean only? I think your best bet is take it the dry cleaners and see if they can remove it. Take the glue with you so they can see what kind of glue it is.

Yes the ZIG glue stick can be refilled. I haven't done it myself as I think I'd make a mess of it but the glue stick does come out so you can refill it.
