Works great for a while
I bought a HDMI over ethernet extender before from Amazon that was similar but had to have a power supply on the receiver and transmitter. This one only needs power on one side. I'm using two of these for a tv at my home and have not had a problem with either of them.UPDATE 3/30/2024I tried to use a few days ago and both of the units show a pixelated image. I tried different ethernet and hdmi cables with no change. I guess I got a years worth of use from them..UPDATE #2 8/27/2024The seller reached out to me and sent me two more for free after my update on 3/30/2024. Both of those randomly flash to a black screen and back to the image every 5 minutes or so. I guess I'm going to have to spend a little more for quality. I have another from a different seller that works great. I just liked these better because they only require power on one end instead both ends like my current one that actually works.

It works
Little did I know that 50 feet of HDMI will not carry the hi def signal to my projector. I used this product with a 50 foot Ethernet cable and it works great!EDIT: It worked great for one month, then stopped working. Power is still coming from the power adapter, but no signal is being sent to the projector. I can't believe I have to replace it after one month of use (avg. 1.5-2 hours a day). Do I replace it with the same thing and hope the short life span was a fluke, or do I go with a different brand? So frustrating....Edit again: I contacted the seller and they said they stand by their products and sent me a replacement immediately. Thank you! Replacement works great! Great customer support!

Small, only needs to power the transmitter, great signal throughput
This $25 setup is far superior to a previous HDMI extender I purchased. (Search my reviews to see.) The picture quality is great and the signal is rock solid. I'm pushing it through 100+ feet of Cat5 cable and color and quality is great.Knocking off one star only because this setup can't feed two screens simultaneously. There is only one HDMI output on the transmitter. I haven't tried splitting the signal, but the performance looks so good that I expect I could split it if the length of the second feed isn't excessive.

Does the Job
I am not asking these to do a lot. Just the basics. Needed to extend the video feed of my security system cameras to a monitor in another room. Set up was simple and it works. Have had this for over a year with absolutely no complaints.

Well if I'm gonna be forced to get my opinion vi email.
I got an email requesting my opinion. Nice size, good quality build and they've been pretty rocksolid for almost everything I've used them on. They can be powered from either direction although apple computers and devices that don't put enough power on the HDMI port can have issues requiring the power feed to be at the transmit end. I have used them to extend a camera which is great if you have to use a camera that's not NDI compatible. I had just way too many cables but if you can get all your cables down to CAT5 it's a whole lot easier which meant rather than having to run HDMI all over the place thick fat HDMI and couplers and connection issues I could cut my stocking cables down to a few sets of cat five cable in various links that I can switch around for various rooms we set up in. The other two places I am using this is from the guest speakers laptop at the podium back to the tech table where I have an HDMI switch which then goes over another converter back to the projector. this allows 2 cables going upfront ethernet and ethernet for video, and then two more ethernet cables going to the projector one for video and one for DMX. I have probably used up to 150 feet of cable with these and down to 10 feet and 6 feet in testing. All of my issues were usually with other devices or the cable being unplugged. I just wish there was a model number for these things as whenever I need another set I have to search by picture as multiple brands try to claim these as their own. This set was purchased for my local theater as there's an individual who wanted to be able to have a permanently installed HDMI connection at the stage back to the projection Booth. I went with these because I've had absolutely no issues with them and I have had with others that just don't like the input resolution or handshaking for some reason. Another benefit is that I have been already using them with the set up for mobile live streaming for an individual which means when we do an event at the theater the infrastructure will be the same and I will be able to cross connect. They don't draw much power which means a 5.5 mm barrel splitter can be used to power say an HDMI switch, transmitter and receiver from a 5V 1-2 amp brick and then they can be Velcro-ed on top. Being able to power from either end is convenient and gifts options as this means not needing to power converter at a camera, laptop or projector and being able to power from a central location off a battery back up ( just because the Internet and projector goes off doesn't mean we're not gonna stop recording which makes fixing things and post easier ). Can't think of anything else to say but I'm sure I'll remember something after I post.

Don’t last long…They work well, until they don’t.
Had 4 of these installed & they are really simple to set up which was great. The sound is good & the image is clear as long as it’s working properly. However, 1 of them didn’t work at all and a second one stopped working within months. The receivers basically stop receiving the signal from the transmitters. These two were installed at a distance less than 50ft apart.Bought replacements installed them & they worked, but still had about the same lifespan… less than 1 year. The video goes black & then comes back… it does it pretty frequently. The other 2 lasted longer but still less than 1 year & they are used for a longer distance (~100ft). They lose signal completely & they sometimes start back working, but only if we turn them off and let them “rest” a while (like overnight) which is no good if we’re in the middle of using them. Before replacing the extender, the HDMI & CAT6 cables were tested, all were fine. These are used about 3 days/week for 3-4 hrs/day. The ones at the shorter distance aren’t used nearly as much…maybe 1-2 hours/week.These extenders are cheaper than others so have to just pay for better quality—but unfortunately as of now 6 of these have already been purchased & all of them have failed & still have to buy the more costly ones.
