Love this newer model!!
We have used the “old model” for around four years. Lately the static produced by it, has made sleeping a little more difficult. So I thought I’d look and see what I could find, that might be a better option. Surprisingly, I found this, the upgraded/newer version made by the same company (wish I had found it a few years ago!).I won’t say that it’s static free. BUT the static that is produced is at a lower volume and for lack of words to explain it, a lower tone as well. Now the sounds coming out of it (what I’m listening for) are reduced a little. But I usually sleep with one eye open anyway, so I am able to still hear the sounds I need to.All in all, yes I would purchase this again, and I definitely refer it to others.

Lifesaver of a product.
These speakers are as advertised. They have really helped with taking care of my elderly parent. Sound quality is very good. Range is perfect for inside and outside of house and yard. They reach conversation of two rooms! Thank You

Best Purchase Ever
I was worried I would regret buying such a basic baby monitor. I am so glad I didn't waste my money on an expensive video monitor I didn't need. My baby is 7 months old now and we have used this monitor since she was born. This receivers are indestructible. I have dropped them off every surface in our house including down our wood stairs. They still look brand new and don't have a single scratch. The battery life is insanely long. I love having 2 receivers so my husband and I can both hear baby when we are in different rooms. They have clips on the back like walkie talkies so I can clip them to my clothes when I am walking around the house doing chores. The audio quality is great and I hear every noise baby makes! You won't regret this purchase!! Best value for your money hands down!

two is better than one
Somehow there are not a lot of dual monitor broadcasting devices... probably because people use the wifi / video ones. but this is great if you have two different people keeping track of baby at different times and you don't want to pass back and forth the monitor. 4 stars because there's not a screen with options or alerts, but it does its functional job.

For the parents who keep it simple
This is a reliable classic baby monitor. I tried fancier monitors, had an AngelCare that sent my anxiety through the roof, and looked at the video ones but was put off by the low security and hacking. So I decided to kick it old school and just get a simple audio only radio monitor. And it’s all you need, I swear! Once they’re old enough to be out of your bedroom, they’ll cry a certain loud way to wake you up when they want you, and you just need something to get that noise from their room to yours.I bought one 4 years ago for my first child, and I bought a second one for my second child because I wasn’t quite ready to give up having one in the preschoolers room when she’s sick. It’s cheap enough that this is an affordable luxury to the cash strapped parent, and the sound quality got better in four years, which is nice. Two parent units is the right number of monitors in my experience. When they move into the nursery, I keep one unit in the parent bedroom and one unit plugged in on my desk most of the time, and then if you need to go work in another room it’s simple to just unplug it and put it on your waistband with the slide-clip.

Great as long as the parental units are plugged in
Had many vtech phones and this runs on the same tech but they seemed to have cheaped out on the batteries with this. Will not last the night. I bought this for my mom and I to monitor my 88 year old grandma who broke her knee and needs help out of bed, to wheelchair, to potty etc. I trusted the battery as it supposedly lasts 8 hours had it looped to my belt but 4 hours later as I was out doing yardwork had to be told that she needed help and low and behold parental units was dead after a full charge. I am keeping this cause nothing similar that's just audio but if you are monitoring your baby or an elderly like me do not rely on the battery. It's perfect when it's plugged in. Do not trust the rated battery life if that's important to you

Works great, but a few flaws
I've been really happy with this set of one base station and two parent units. You get three AC adapters, one for the base (which cannot use batteries) and one for each parent unit. The sound is very clear, and there's no static thanks to it using a 6.0ghz DECT digital signal. The units will alert you if they lose connection with the base station so that you know you can't hear your baby. Very simple no-frills operation. That being said there are a couple of downsides:1. The form factor is awful. The parent units being shaped like an egg, tip over very easily especially if they have the cord plugged into them.2. The parent units each use two AAA batteries. When reading other reviews, I saw others complaining that they drain batteries very fast when unplugged. This is an under statement. It seems like 2-3 hours off the charger and the low battery light starts flashing and the unit beeps. I'm using 800mah Ni-MH rechargable batteries that I bought for these units. If I were using disposable batteries, I would be really upset with how fast they were being drained. But being prepared for this and having rechargeable its not a huge problem (just having to swap daily). The high frequency digital signal is nice because it would be extremely difficult if not impossible for someone to eavesdrop on the units with any type of consumer equipment, unlike the old analog monitors where you could tap in easily with a scanner. All in all a good unit, if you can overlook the terrible battery life and crappy form factor. I might try to order extra ac adapters for the spots that I move to around the house so I can rely on batteries less.
