Q: what is best oil or wax pencils and how I can tell the difference?

Oil vs wax is like (-) screwdriver vs (+) screwdriver. As an artist, I use both, as they function differently. Oil based pencils are best used for layering, where I want to see all colors from the base to the top, like animals' fur. Wax based pencils are best used for mixing, where I want to see all the colors mixed smoothly, like human skin. If the pencils blend easily and smoothly, then they are most likely wax based.

Q: Does this have the same color pencils as the 72

I don’t know I just was to comment that with these cheap Chinese pencils the manufacturer of a 72 set may not be the same manufacturer of the 120 set even though the brand name is the same. Often they are made by two different manufacturers in different factories using different specifications. A 120 set you bought two years ago may not be the same pencils you buy today. Look through some of these Chinese sets snd you can tell the same pencil is sold under a variety of brand names. The only difference is the tin and there is no guarantee you will be able to buy the same set again or avoid a set again.

There is plenty Brownish darker skin tone colors. However, I found six light skin tone colors. They are Shallow Yellow, Pale Yellow, Light Coral, Sakura, Shallow Orange, and Nude. In my opinion, the set includes 180 pencils that are on the darker side. I felt like there isn't enough light shades. As much as I love this set, but I do wish there was more pastel and skin tone colors.

Q: Do you have to push hard like with Crayola colored pencils?

These pencils are great. I can use 1 color if I choose and due gradient shading. Well worth the money. A shading pencil will help blend colors

Great Pencils!

I love these. They lay down beautifully. I love the extra greens, blues and pinks. Nice set to go with my Prismacolors. Price point is great. I bought this set as gifts too. My GrandDaughter loves them also.

Not a professional artist, but these are really nice pencils for the price.Numerous variations of each color, and they are soft, smooth and plain very well.Though need to find out if I can order just a pencil or two to replace those that I use the most.

I love them. Excellent qualityz, not a single broken tip. Stunning colors. Easy to sharpen. Ive been using them for week weeks now and I couldn’t be happier.

Even with a new sharpener

Great for blending and having fun with colors. Not so great for longevity or sharpening. Tips break off inside of wood casing and the tips fracture when sharpening. But seriously for the $/count amount, you can't go wrong.
