Worked perfectly out of the box and includes a USB-C to USB-C cable and a standard USB cable. I plugged it right into my 2016 Macbook Pro and started copying files. I have to have space to edit videos and still can't believe that this computers don't have more disk capacity. It matches my computer perfectly and so far it works great.

The disk works initially with Mac only. Windows computers can see the drive but cannot format, partition, or use it. The only way to make the drive usable on a Windows machine is to get a utility such as Paragon HFS, which allows Windows to see and use a Mac-formatted drive. This should be noted more clearly in the description, or the vendor should sell Windows-accessible drives.

it great with one exception. i would like to see the connectors it comes with on the pictures. and a brief explanation that it is a usb c port to usb c port and that it will not work with older laptops. mine is only 3 years old but old enough that it is not compatible. lucky i just got a brand new desk top computer that has the ports. i was hoping to use this to back up my laptop but will have to order another one for my laptop. its very elegant looking, sleek and faster than the non c port drives. good by. only which a little more info about what it comes with and not compatible with, i thought it may have a c port to a regular port. maybe a pic of the cable would be a good idea. I use this as my back-up drive in addition to iCloud for my new MacBook Pro. It works as advertised and I'm very happy with the size and quality.

Fast drive. Works great both on my 2016 MacBook Pro via USB-C and on my earlier iMac via USB 3.1. Both cable provided. Very happy! Photos load really fast.

An Apple "Genius" talked me into buying a G drive at the Apple store to do my backup before they completely wiped out my Macbook hard drive and installed new system. So, I go home and try to restore my music, pictures, documents from the G drive and it FAILED!!! It would not even show up on the desktop, nothing. Called the geniuses and they washed their hands off it and told me to call the G manufacturer. And those losers tried to sell me a software called Disk Rescue or something like that for $115!!!!! I will be taking to a professional place to have the recovery done - $99. I pray to God they can get my stuff of that piece of junk. All my music, pictures from the last 6 years and documents LOST! NEVER buying another Apple product or anything they sell in the stores ever again. Ever.It's a piece of crap Chinese junk. Save yourself a headache and $$$. DO NOT BUY!!!!

would have been five stars if I had known up front was not compatible with windows platform unless you bought an aftermarket software program to link the two....
