Wax Blocks Need to be Soaked in Fuel Before Use
It was my first time purchasing Chinese light lanterns. I did my research, watched “how to” videos, read every bit of information provided on the seller’s page, and was prepared to use the lanterns at midnight for New Year’s. After driving to a safe location, and having a crowd gather, it turns out you have to soak the wax blocks provided in fuel in order for them to light. It was such a let down. When back home I eventually tested one out after soaking it in lighter fuel. It felt messy and dangerous. I wish these had been pre-soaked like others shown in videos and like these were presented to be - “then attach the wax block to the four strings”, no mention of soak it in fuel first (except in the actual packaging - which is of no help because the item was already purchased with the belief that it’s not required based on the advertising and other product videos). Other than that, it works. It’s large. It’s beautiful to watch fly up at night. I’ll be an experienced buyer from now on and will ask if it’s pre-soaked.

Poor materials did not work well.
The directions don't make sense. The English is not understandable. I have used lanterns before. These have very thin paper. The sides burned before it would rise up. When we could get one to go up, it flew up and landed only a few houses over on their lawn. No fire danger. It had already gone out before it landed. Poor materials. Terrible instructions.

Get what you pay for. Be gentle and use on a very calm weather day.
Be very careful when opening these to get them ready to light and release as almost everyone of my order ripped and several were unable to be used. They didn’t want to to light and didn’t make it very high before a light breeze caused them to crash to the ground destroying the few we had left to use.

DONT waste your money!
I was so excited to get these lanterns to release on my deceased fathers birthday. I was so upset when I opened the package and saw that every single lantern had this huge ugly yellow stain on them from the block that you attach for the fire. Not only was there a disgusting yellow stain on all 20 of them but when I opened the package I was overwhelmed by this horrible chemical smell. Along with everything else wrong with these lanterns there was some sort of glue on the paper so you couldn’t unfold them without tearing the paper. Overall I was so disappointed with this purchase I had such high expectations and unfortunately I was let down.

Low quality, don’t buy for special occasions
This was a terrible purchase. I had envisioned pretty white lanterns floating over the lake for my moms funeral service and instead I got garbage. The igniters wouldn’t stay lit and would melt away from the lantern and I didn’t get any of them successfully lifted off the ground. Super disappointing

Poor quality
I bought it for the end of the year, they have poor quality, out of 20 they only blew 5, difficult for the wick to light, do not lose your money and the worst thing that you are disappointed with the purchase because I made a fool of myself at the party

Challenging to get started.
It took 2 of us to assemble and took a while to light. Not sure if we didn’t open it properly but it started to catch fire. I’ve used other paper lanterns and didn’t have any of these problems.
