Excellent build quality and the simplest way to cut power/isolate a battery I can find and at an AMAZING PRICE!!

I have a parasitic drain in my work van, so if it's sitting for more than a few days, this switch is handy to save my battery. It was a little wonky on the install, and feels a tad flimsy, but once it was bolted in it felt solid, and works as intended.

I searched through all (possibly) the similar battery quick-disconnect options on Amazon. Ultimately settled on this one because it stated "solid brass." This is not the case.It is made of weak, pot-metal and painted gold. Also, the "isolator" is a very thin piece of white plastic that barely performs it's function. You must back the screw out, almost completely, to disconnect the battery. At that point, the assembly falls apart (which is why electrical tape is used in my "fix" below).The part snapped on first assembly using only finger strength to get things oriented properly before using the wrench for final tightening. Did not have time to mess with returning/exchanging and finding a replacement, so I got creative with heat shrink and electrical tape. It has worked for four trips needed to move the car around shop and once to gas station, however continuity has become "finicky." Will have to replace before I feel comfortable driving the car any distance.I would not recommend this to anyone.

This quick connect seems to be made of quality parts. The installation is easy. The problem is the quick connect / disconnect mechanism is insufficient to make it as easy and useful as it should be. I have an old pickup that sits idle most of the time and is perfect for needed a battery quick connect / disconnect. Unfortunately the battery is a side post style and this is the only QC device that is reasonably priced for this type of setup.When you park your vehicle and then disengage your negative battery cable using the device, you have to unscrew the device pretty much completely, in order to sever the connection to the battery so it will not continue to draw and drain power while the vehicle is just sitting till next use.The two metal pieces must be totally taken apart (separated), pretty much. And worst of all the one end of the connection has no threads to hold the bolt/screw handle in place. So the Bolt-handle will/may fall out and possibly be lost. In other words the bold that holds the device tight to make the electrical connection is now loose with nothing to hold it to either side of the connection.I have made due with it, but it is a pain to deal with. A little bitt of additional design engineering (threads) on both pieces and this device could be much more functional and a better solution for all users.
