A Definite Must Have
if you are a fan of Boy George or Culture Club then you must get this. Sure his voice sounds older (but not old) yet it's still soulful and poetic. While some of the tracks have too much of a reggae vibe for my taste, it's overshadowed by the excellent vocals/lyrics. I remember watching an older Freddie Mercury interview where the interviewer asked him to comment on some of the artists who were coming onto the scene in the early eighties. Freddie mentioned Boy George and said that you can look at someone and just know they are going to be around for a while and Boy George would definitely be around a very long time. Freddie pretty much was right on the money, and Freddie is probably the best male vocalist rock music has ever seen, so his judgment is something to bank on. And hopefully Boy George will keep making music many many years to come. There are a lot of songs to love on this album. Stand outs are video Games, Any Road, Live your Life and the remake of the Dylan Classic Make You Feel My Love. I love Dylan as a songwriter just not as a vocalist so hearing Boy George's take on this song was welcome indeed. Also of note, anyone who knows me knows I hate digipaks I like keeping my cds safe and secure. And this one is in digipak but nicely put together. The booklet that comes with it seems professional and not just a last minute decision. It includes black and white pictures along with lyrics to all of the songs (including bonus tracks). The paper is glossy and seems like photo type/glossy paper. Definitely a nice touch.

This is a great album?
I don’t know how to give a detailed review about every song, but all I can say is that if you’ve been a fan of George’s for years & you’ve followed his entire career from the beginning, you’ll love this album. I have my favorites. There’s nothing that I can’t stand & have to skip over every time. So, I give it a 10, an A and all that. 👍

New Boy George
It's great to hear Boy George getting back in the swing of things. His voice is huskier and smokier now, but then again, he's not in his twenties anymore. I especially liked the reggae numbers, of which there are quite a few. No, this is not culture club, but it is new music from our best Boy. I just wish the videos of the songs would have been part of the package, they add quite a bit of atmosphere to the tunes. After all, Boy George was always very visual and the videos that I've seen on You Tube actually made me want to buy the CD. "King of Everything" and "My God is Bigger" videos are striking and very artfully done. I didn't expect the facial hair, but I like it. The daddy look fits in well with his hard-won maturity. I was expecting some upbeat dance or techno numbers but didn't really find them in this collection. Most of the songs are autobiographical in nature, which is fine. Overall, the CD is well produced and nice to listen to, but I don't think there are any barn burners in this set... but then again, who wants to go burn their barn down? Luv you, Boy George, keep the new music coming!

OUTSTANDING! A MUST BUY
Mr. O'Dowd has truly hit one out of the ballpark with this gem. I only had to listen to the samples to know I HAD to have this one. This one painfully tells the trials and tribulations and the bare bones basics of what the personal hell he has gone though, mostly self-induced. The voice is deeper and grittier which shows the reality of the abuse of what drugs can do but it has weathered the storm. The music is very much Caribbean flavored as with his Culture Club days and shows his love of reggae and respect for this music. There is country influence as well. Each song has been carefully written and chosen by him to paint an autobiography of his life over the past thirty plus years. Not one song is a thrown in filler. This one most definitely should be added to your collection and is well worth the money spent. It may very well be one of those albums that will stand the test of time as a classic. Mr. O'Dowd, if you read this, props to you!

Awesome!
Wow George!I had no idea what to expect from this new album when I got it. I saw the music videos for" King Of Everything " and " My God " which I love both. The album is impressive George is always influenced by reaggae music there's some of that. A little pop some ballads, it's a very well balanced vibe kind of album cool tracks " It's Easy " " Love And Danger " "Feel The Vibration" another track you will fall in love with is " Make You Feel My Love." These days my ultimate fave track that I can't get enough of which I think George should released as a single is " Video Games " this song right here is the BEST!I got to see Boy George @ Irving Plaza in NYC, it was such a great experience. Bravo!

THUNDER AT TWILIGHT
Last summer I purchased the pop Culture Club hit "Move Away" for a music compilation I was assembling and likely as a result this CD ended up on one of my musical interest lists on iTunes. I am glad it did. I was unaware that Boy George was still actively recording. When I sampled and purchased a few of the MP3's from this work I was so impressed I thought this is one CD I needed to own.It is an infectious, diverse collection of pop, soul, reggae and even country that few artists have the ability to cover so fluidly. The ballad, "Its Easy" is a gem for its sincerity and simplicity. The instrumentation and production are superb. It is rare to find music these days that still incorporates such great background supportive vocals. This performer's voice has become richer as it has matured as has his lyrical content. It is refreshing to hear a full collection of songs with intelligent points of view or observations without preaching. This is something special.

Very nice surprise
I came across this album when I was holidaying by the pool and want a great album it is. I had no idea about it even though it was released almost 10 years ago. Shame on not more airplay. One of the best BG albums along with his latest Cool Karaoke for which I have no idea why it’s only available for download on Amazon. Call me old fashion but is I still want the CD.

Brilliance
Oh my word!Bought this for my Mum, ended up being obsessed with it myself. In all honesty (saying this as a Boy George fan so no offense like haha), I expected this to be a nice safe album from a comeback kid of the 80's like a slow kind of album but wowzers was I suprised! This album is absolutely wonderful, full of beautiful reggae tunes and not shying away from a rap or two.Nice And Slow, absolute belter of a tune. You won't get it out of your head however, if you're anything like me, you won't want it to!Amazing album from an amazing man

Boy at his best
This is a great album. The music, the lyrics and, very important, Boy's voice. People who expect Boy George to sound the same as he did in the early 80's should compare the voice of other artists from that decade to how they sound now. Nobody's voice remains the same. I think Boy's voice is warmer now then in his Culture Club days. Listening to this cd, it sometimes sounds like Boy was quite enjoying recording these songs.

Eighties Boy With Epic Comeback!
If you closed your eyes at any point listening to Culture Club, you could always tell there was a wonderful soul voice in there. Mix up the soul with some reggae tinged tracks and you have an album that should have been released in the summer for maximum effect. This eighties boy has a fantastic history and on this showing, he needs to spend more time in the studio recording tomorrow's hits. Buy the vinyl for a double album and an excellent pressing (180 gram), and just in case you need it, a CD copy of the album for the car!

Fabulous darling!
I have literally just downloaded this album in the last hour, put it on my ipod and am listening to it as I am catching up with some Friday night chores....but had to stop and write this review, it is wonderful! Not too sure really what I was expecting, but have liked the tracks I have heard on the radio so thought I would give it a go. This really does deserve to do well (as 1 previous reviewer has already said) and I really hope it does. I have already messaged friends about it and will be singing it's praises far and wide. Really nice to see George back on the radio and putting out a new album, my only regret is that I have not been able to get tickets to see him, despite several attempts :( Never mind, seeing him in 84 when he was in Culture Club will have to do for now. Lyrics are wonderful and hit home in many ways. Well done George!!!
